You won't go wrong staying at the Dreams Punta Cana. Traveled with another couple, got a 6 Gold Apple Deal through Apple Vacations that we couldn't pass up. This was our 1st trip to Punta Cana and our friends 5th. The resort is an hour drive from the airport, but an interesting ride. You'll get to see how the locals live and a glimpse of the real Punta Cana. The resort is "BEAUTIFUL" and kept very clean! We tried all 6 restaurants, (Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Seafood, Steak and buffet.) and the food was excellent at all of them - "even the steaks"! They have a BBQ on the beach and at the pool every afternoon where you can get hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken and corn on the cob for lunch. The pool runs the whole length of the resort, so no matter where your room is located you'll have easy access to the pool. The nightly stage shows are very entertaining and a definite must do. The casino is on the small side, but has a couple hand fulls of slot machines and a dozen tables. Every staff member we encountered was beyond accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we were treated with exceptional service. The alcoholic drinks are plentiful and top shelf - you request it - they can make it. We had a 3rd floor room in Building #1 (closest to the ocean). Standard room - 1 King bed, refrigerator (fully stocked), safe, flat screen TV (DirecTV), outside deck with table and chairs, bath w/tub & shower combo, closet, robes and slippers, coffee pot (the local coffee is very good), couch, desk & chair. We walked around the spa, it is beautiful. The only spa service that was used by anyone in our party was the nail salon. They have daily events & entertainment scheduled throughout everyday - so you can choose to be a active participate or just lounge on a beach chair with a cold drink. We used the tennis courts, pool tables, WII, shooting range, corn hole, bocce and shuffleboard. There are also plenty of other activities available: ping pong, bicycling, beach volleyball, pool volleyball, soccer, badminton, rock climbing, bull riding, basketball, water polo, batting cages, karaoke, night club dancing, nightly movie showings, beach bonfires and also a kids club that had daily activities.
*Complaints: 1). There are time share and excursion salesmen located through the resort on a daily basis - telling them NO a few times will usually keep them from bugging you.
2). The room air conditioning SUCKS but the ceiling fan did help to keep the room cool for sleeping.
3). The resort is located on the Atlantic Ocean side, so the water is a little rougher and has coral. They roped off a section of the beach where you are safe from the coral for swimming, but we seen 2 people during our stay that had wounds from coral cuts.
4). Guests get up before the sun rises and put there towels on lounge chairs and are never seen again until around 10-11 AM - REALLY!!! The resort asks that you DO NOT SAVE CHAIRS, but they do absolutely nothing to stop it.
I would definitely stay at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort again and would have no problem telling others the same. It is a lovely resort and had a very relaxing vacation!

If you have kids 3+ yrs, this resort is a MUST. The Kids Club and it's truly amazing staff were a huge hit with our 2 - they wanted to go back at night after spending hours there during the day. We didn't expect this, and it was a delight to have everyone occupied.
Food quality was surprisingly good, especially for all- inclusive. The presentation was lovely, and there were plenty of options. Drinks were great and free-flowing (and everywhere).
Many, many free activities offered throughout the day.
We spoke several times about the bad reviews while we were busy enjoying ourselves immensely. Can't figure it out except to say that some people may measure with a different stick. We travel constantly for work and pleasure, and we are accustomed to good food and good service. Dreams exceeded our expectations for a destination of this sort. If you're looking for an antiseptic environment with perfect a/c and no natural elements, try Orlando. If you're looking for an opportunity to be catered to, have fun, relax and spend time with your friends and loved ones, try this.

I am never ceased to be amazed by this resort. I must say 90 % of my enjoyment is due to the staff. The entire entertainment team run by Mr. Jose Tolentino are top notch! Hector, Wilbert, Yudy, Isabella ,Giselle, every single one of them go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time!
And it doesnt stop there. Every single bartender from Rosario to Domingo(Sugar reef bar), to German(Plaza bar) are extremly hard workers. They are quick , courteous and always serve you with a smile. It's the great staff like those mentioned that will have me returning again for the 7th time to Dreams Punta Cana!

Traveled with my wife and 4 year old girl during the first week of February to this great resort. Drive from airport which included 1 stop was 1 hour, as advertised. Check-in was very efficient, less than 5 minutes. Luggage was also sent to the room in less than 15 minutes, which is better than we experienced at other resorts.

Room:4*
Clean but quite small bathroom. The upgrade to a suite may be desirable if you are more than 2 people.

Pool:4.5*
Very large, clean and runs from lobby to the end of the resort close to the ocean. Perhaps too little sunny area to lounge as there are lots of mature trees.

Beach:4.5*
Very nice sandy access to water, although previous reviews quoted rocks, we did not see any. Can walk for more than 1 hour on either side on pure sandy beach with no other resort in sight.

Staff:5*
Amazing people everywhere; restaurants, bars, waiters, cleaners, front desk.

Entertainment:5*
Staff tries very hard but at the same time are never pushy if you do not want to participate. They will still engage you the next day and ask if you want to try the activity on this day. Always smile and amazing

Explorer Club:6***
I rate this 6* out of 5 !!! Our 4.5 year old girl had the most amazing time with the entire staff (Mimmi, Vicky, Claribel, Marylin, Carol, Wendy). It felt very safe and secure to leave our child at the club for more than 6 hours every day. She did not want to spend any time with us, she was having too much fun with the other kids and the staff. We were always given a cell phone in case of emergency. If you agree to allow your child to leave the club area (which you should), they do various activities at the beach (camping 1 evening until 10PM, treasure hunt during the day, pony ride on the beach, etc...). In addition, they have fun time at the club, following a schedule which is provided to you (pool and slide time, painting, soccer, etc...). Finally, if you want to have quiet dinner, they have a buffet starting at 6:30PM at the club for the kids and they watch a movie outdoor at 7PM and finish their evening at the theater area at 8:30PM for a mini disco just before the adult show goes on.
