I stayed at Hotel Alisios because I was taking a Scuba Diving Certification Class at Caribbean dive colege which is located within the hotel. Upon My arrival I was greeted by the Course Director, Ferry Sneekes and led to my room on the second floor overlooking the main lobby pool. It was a spacious room complete with mini fridge,TV, a huge dresser and drawers in the closet -it also had a safe. the bathroom had a standing shower and commode all in a separate room so that one person can be using the sink whilst another uses commode or shower. On about day two my AC broke and the management worked quickly to fix it---after a few hours they got it working for 3 days --again the management jumped on it and ordered a new unit two days later I had a new working AC in my room--Thanks Sven for this Excellent service!
the rest of my stay was flawless. On most days because I keep a clean room, I told the main that it was Nada Nessesario to clean the room. On my last day I went around and gave all of the maids Hershey's kisses....they were most appreciative! The Hotel is centrally located so everything can be reached by foot--I did most of my movement by foot -altho I did occasionally ride a motoconcho to Shop and Drink in Fruisa or Mangu in Bavarro. but close to the hotel is a french Boulangerie that has excellent expresso, lattes and smoothies, along with baguettes, croissants -ham& cheese croissants, pastries, cakes and the what not----for food there;s a grocery store across the corner from here, also is a pharmacy in this complex, the woman there is from cuba and speaks fluent spanish and some english...For nightime out front on most nights is Denni's Bar, they have food and drinks, and karaoke. across the street is Liquid Dos, they have a quick menu as well as drinks, beer cigarettes, and plenty of room to hang out. a short ride south is Palma Real shopping center, there is a Hard Rock cafe there-Tony Romas steakhouse, and lots of other stores. Excursions and Scuba diving can be had at the diving center, their number is 809-552-0305, ask for Ferry or Andi, altho anyone can help you....the price for this hotel is reasonable and changes with the seasons, but if you are like me and you like a quieter venue without all of the bustle of a resort this is the hotel to go to! I am planning another stay at Alisios in late Feb 2012---can't wait to go back to my new Home away from Home!
