Interestingly i was hesitating about this resort due to its very affordable price. One thing i have clear and that's for sure: -never judge without knowing someone or a particular place , that's why i take rarely serious some destructive comments we are delighted to read at this prestigious site from people with some lack of imagination and positive attitude to make of a trip an awesome experience and put aside the insignificant trifles, taking always in consideration that the culture and practices at the country you are traveling to may differ from those found in your country of origin. If you have the capacity to live with it, for sure you will always have fun no matter what.
Interestingly the green areas are lush ,clean, and well sustained by the gardeners which is nice to see after a winter of 10 month long .
There were a very intense sewage odor outside the building i stayed at btw.
The room i stayed at was on the top floor with a huge balcony . it was in front of the made cleaning room which can be very noisy some times while they do their stuff . The bed was very comfortable , the bath is in good conditions and i did not experience any technical problem while there, " just 3 blackouts in a raw during my second night ", but my partner did not even realize about it. One thing i would like to point out is the very old and unsecured security boxes, very small that even a tablet does not fit inside it. They should replace them all .
The WiFi service is not worth it , most of the time does not works and to get 15 minutes ($4.00 USD) at the lobby internet area you will need a lot of luck, but since i went down there for vacations and to get disconnected from the Unreal world , internet surfing was not definitively on my list of priorities.
I would like to point out also , and the only thing that really bothered me was how much cigarette smoke you can breath in a single day at the lobby, at the beach , at the pool and other external areas. In other words , The hotel does not have a policy prohibiting smoking in its public areas ,thing that goes even against Dominican Republic laws.
F & B:
The food was acceptable, mostly at the buffet where you can find a very large variety of fruits and vegetable , salads, etc .Every time i went to a la carte restaurants , i ended up leaving 20 minutes later for the buffet .
For coffee lovers like me, its better to make your own one in the room with the coffeemaker and coffee provided by the hotel, otherwise you will be disappointed at your breakfast every time. It is not a matter of luck or something, you just won't have a good coffee at the only place you can have breakfast which is a shame because the Dominican coffee is excellent . Contradictory isn't it ? Something need to be improved about it.
My reflexion is not mean to blame them (the employees), i guess the resort should invest on its underpaid employees by giving them at least some training about how to threat clients and deal with their needs . I use to say no mater where you go, its not the country if not its people that can make a huge difference. I remember on my past trip to Costa Rica that every single employee knew my name by hard, something really remarkable. They need to improve their customer service.
Something you should IGNORE is a proposal you are going to get from the Concierge about an hour briefing for a program the chain offers to book with them directly. They will promise you things you will never get. They are going to try and convince you to enroll in a fidelity program by paying up to $3k USD at once for some benefits that i don't really see where the big deal is. It's a complete waste of time, and for them to get their commissions they will promise you the moon and the whole universe with pink clouds.
They have some activities at night for children first, and after for adults at the theater. It consist on interactive activities and shows that can get repetitive every night, but its interesting to see it.
In one word, "Gorgeous" the only thing is that there is not enough chairs to take a good rest . Good luck in trying to find one really available! if you can bring your own from your home with a beach umbrella, please do so.
Have your lunch at the beach buffet resto, i discovered it the third day of my stay, you can have your lunch with an awesome view on the beach.
Also please, try to tip more , even if you don't get the desired service. By tipping once they will know you and next time they will be pleased to serve you all the time.
I hope as always my contribution can help you on your decisionmaking !
