My husband and I went for our honeymoon from Jan 20 - Feb 3, 2012. We had two friends join us from Jan 26 - Feb 2, 2012. I need to preface that I wasn't looking forward to going this long. I am a homebody and wanted to stay home. But I am so glad I went.
Best part of the trip: STAR FRIENDS: the entertainers. they were amazing and so funny. They made us feel like we were at home there. I definitely recommend that you get to know them. Their evening shows that are interactive with the audience are hilarious! Star Friends made the trip for us. We loved Julio, Fernando, Raul, Joanna, Jensy, Evelyn, Luis, Cocote, Naomi, Melvin.... They have so much energy!
Hotel check in: Very quick, staff very pleasant!
Room: very nice! I enjoyed the bungalow stle much better than a hotel style. Segunda was our housekeeper and she was very quick and efficient.
Buffet restaurant: Amazing, there was always so much to choose from. Juan Carlo and Mariel were usually our servers and they were very personable and quick. We usually sat in their section. We hit 'Jambalaya' - service was great, food was okay, and the mediterranean restaurant. I don't recommend this one. Food was icky, service good. I didn't eat my meal and went to the buffet restaurant to eat, which was always amazing.
Pool: staff at the swim up bar are very keen and get to know your drink in a very short period of time. Staff at the pool restaurant are very pleasant - always singing while they are serving.
Disappointing moment: by the time i remembered to check in with guest services about some items i left around the resort - I don't think Joseph the staff I originally spoke with believed me - because i waited too many days to check. He said he would check and get back to me. We were leaving that day so a couple of hours later I went back and spoke to a female at guest services - she brought me to the lost and found right away and i found both my items!!! Yeah females (i wish i got her name) - Joseph sucked. I recommend checking with lost and found right away - Joseph may believe you then.
Room Tip: Our friends who came in a week after us, tipped the check in clerk $10 to get a room closer to us :)
