My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Punta Cana using his Grandmothers Timeshare.. We booked our flights before we booked the hotel because of the low prices. We later found out that we could only check in on Saturday at our hotel which was the Cayena Beach ( Arena Blanca) instead of switching our flights we decided to stay at a cheaper hotel for 1 night. We chose the Punta Cana Beach Resort because of its lower rates, and short distance to the airport. I called the hotel ahead to set up a shuttle from the airport to the hotel which was 20 dollars for both of us. When we got off the Plane imminently we were greeted by a women associated with the resort , she was holding up a sign with my name. She was extremely helpful she took care of customs ( we didnt have to wait on line ) and our bags and then our ride. when we got to the hotel we were greeted with fresh fruit punch with was amazing! we had to wait 2 2/2 hours for our room to be ready. the resort is nice the food is not bad, for what we used the hotel for which was a 1 night stay it was perfect but i wouldn't want to stay there for a weeks vacation. the room was okay nothing to rave about. There were stains on the sheets and on the walls in the bathroom.

Our room was very dirty, Bugs were ever where, bugs smashed on walls, We even got a marine apartment with up grades,was told we had a up stairs room, got the bottom floor. doors would not close or open,The place was falling apart. was told we could cook, no pots or pans to cook with, The finale straw was when our TV blew up and no one came to check it out. Ever time we turned around they were charging us for some thing. Very expensive, for a dive.14 dollars for a hamburger, 2 dollars for a small water. This is not the place to go to enjoy the Dominican. not all- inclusive, The beach was very poor.we left after 2 days and they wanted to charge us for the whole two weeks,

I assume the positive reviews are from customers that owe homes on the property. The average guest stay isn't that great. I want to be fair. The majority of the staff is very kind but the overall resort isn't impressive. This resort lacks a lot. I travel often. Why would you select this resort when there are so many other options. Yes, the golf course is nice. Yes, the closeness to the airport is a plus.The daily breakfeast was a highlight along with the beach bar, however, other than that why bother. I realize the resort is owned by "celebrities" and an overhaul will be underway in a few years. It has the potential to be great but its current state isn't impressive...I value the reviews posted on this site so I had to share my poor experience with the front desk, the lack of restaurants/evening lounge area, bad decor/furniture.

After spending 5 lack lustre days at what is currently rated as the #7 hotel in Punta Cana (all inclusive) it was a refreshing and wonderful break to come here. It did not matter to me that it was not an all-inclusive; I cared about the quality of service, food, room and overall experience. Compared to my past 5 days elsewhere this is a definite 5 and I would return in a heartbeat. I agree, the rooms could use some refreshment, but they were clean, the linens were of superior quality and there was plenty of room to relax. There was no claiming of lounge chairs, there was plenty of room between the beautiful beach and pool area to relax. The breakfast buffet was superior and the overall experience was amazing.
