What can I say other than my husband and I have never been treated so well at an all inclusive resort!! We spent 7 nights and 8 days at the Hard Rock and returned home on Feb 7th. Needless to say, it was an amazing trip!! One of the best parts of our trip was interacting with the lovely staff members..they are ALL AWESOME!! From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank the following staff members we met and for going above and beyond, not only with the service they provided but also for being just wonderful people!! Ok..here goes: Francisco Almonte (bell boy) - one of the coolest cats you will ever meet! Thanks for the picture and the email and Quiero Mas ROMO!!! The trolley drivers - bless these guys for doing their jobs with a smile!! House keeping-EXCELLENT. Room Service - these guys are on the ball 24/7..give them a tip and a break if by chance you get toast and its a little cold..they are serving 1800 rooms! Cheyenne-Mini bar attendant-You ROCK!!! Sandro-Pool Bar tender-Keep smiling and keep making wonderful pina coladas! Daniella - Beach Waitress-Oye Como Va!!! We truly hope that each person metioned continues to enjoy life, treat others how THEY want to be treated and really make guests feel like friends!! By the way..Toro has the BEST beef tenderloin...ever! GET IT..more than ONCE!!

The scenery was great, the room was pretty nice (althought the flimsy plastic holder that the hair dryer was hanging on fell off every time I used it), had to call the front desk to get the fridge restocked several times before they did so, mattress was comfy, weather great, choices of restaurants good (Zen - Hibachi was our favorite), spa - magnificent and the most organized of them all - which brings me to the bad - the organization at the hotel was awful! No maps, didn't have our reservation in the system, and system was down for at least 3 days while we were there so we couldn't book the spa, or any excursions. No one knew where to go or who to talk to, and when we finally found the right person, there was an hour long wait (line). If you've been to a Palace Resort before, don't expect the same - they are selling the Hard Rock brand, but not living up to it - go back to a Palace Resort before they all change to this mess!

I read tripadvisor weeks before our trip. All in all I thought the reviews were mixed, but I was optimistic that the bad reviews were from the pampered and spoiled.....sorry for that. We entered the lobby and my girl was given a fresh rose and an "Hola". She waiting on the comfy chairs as I checked in. Apparently they got a new computer system two day prior to our arrival and were obviously still working out the bugs. They explained as much and I was patient. Within 15 minutes, we were on our way to our room.

The room was awesome. Just like the pictures from the Hardrock site. Bed was very comfortable with very fresh linens. The wet ar was fully stocked and the fridge had plenty of "Presedent" beer. The jucuzzi tub was big enough to have more than a few nights of romace, The deck was very nice cause you can sit and relax, read a book, or chill and you are still able to hear the music from the speakers that surround the walkways. We really didn't spend to much time in the room. We tipped the housekeepers $5.00 a day. Really it was a $5 casino chip. They were more than happy to receive the chip. Our room had flowers all around after day one, champaign and flowers day 2, and heart shaped towels with flowers the rest of the days. It was cute to walk back to the room after a sun filled day to see what they did to our room. It was worth the $30 for the week. I knew they could use it seeing how depressed the country is driving from the airport to the resort.

The pools were great. On day one, we took the tram around the resort just to see what was there and where we might want to spend our time. Once was worth it, not twice. We ended up going to the Eden pool on day 2. Very nice swinging in the hammocks. The views were mixed, but the servers were right on time everytime we wanted a drink or eats. We spent most of our pool time at the Toro pool. Clocset to ur room and it is like all the other pools. Again, service was great for drinks and eats (Nachos and chicken fingers). Some of our friends went into Toro and Isla for lunch. Mixed reviews on that.

The beach sand is so soft, but they were doing beach replenishment with wheel barrels. Thank God we have bulldozers!!!! The beach was very windy and the ocean was rough. As soon as you got waist deep, the lifeguards were blowing theirs whistles. So we stayed at the pools except for walks down to other resorts.

The night life was great. Live bands inside the main buildings. Casino and sportsbook was aewsome as well.

Language barrier- do yourself a favor a learn a few sentences in spanish.

1500 in credits was great. Get to the credit liason early in the morning and there won't be a line. 15 minutes and I had golfing, spa, horseback riding, and snorkling all set up.

We look forward to going back to the Hardrock again next year.

Americans, leave you attitudes at home and relax knowing that they are giving you their all. Enjoy!

I can't believe that I've read a couple of bad reviews on this resort.
I've been bringing my group of friends down south for over 30 years. This year, 21 of my friends joined me for this trip. Every single person told me, "Dave, I want to come back to the Hard Rock every year!"
The trip started with some all-inclusive pre-boarding service from Air Transat ... props to them for allowing us to start our trip on such a great note. We were in good hands from the start.
The flight and transport to the hotel was quick and efficient. Once at the hotel, the check-in was done in a very prompt and welcoming fashion. The boys out front were happy to take us to our rooms ... thanks guys!!
How were the rooms you might be asking? Well, they were fit for rock stars ... every room was spotless and clean, super comfortable beds, flat screen tv's and a double jacuzzi in every room ... wowzers! Oh, and fridge refreshments and the liquor bar were replaced every day!
The resort is big and beautiful. The walking was easy, so don't worry about the size of the resort ... less than five minutes from the front of the resort to the beach. The grounds are beautiful and pools are literally endless!
If you are in the party mood then the beach is the place to be ... If you've ever met my group then you know why we spent so much time at the beach!
Want to relax and enjoy some quiet time? You'll have what feels like acres and acres of chill areas to enjoy a book or take a nap. A few of us needed these quiet areas after a couple of late nights at the disco!
The staff was super friendly and catered to everyone's needs. You were friends with them from the first day you arrived.
The food was out of this world. Excellent selection, something for everyone. Breakfast, lunch, dinner ... you'll look forward to all three! Never needed a reservation for the restaurants but we did book two times through the concierge in the lobby. Room service was fast and the good again great (try the clam chowder).
The golf course is well maintained and the greens are fast. On top of all this, they give you a $1500 room credit to use for golf, spa services or excursions ... what more can you ask for?
My suggestion is to book now for next year. The Hard Rock lets you live like a ... rock star!
