We went to the Majestic Elegance with my bff's husband's ashes (he died this summer of brain cancer at 40 yoa). Horam had never had a request to "set the beach up in an honorary fashion" and he went all out. He brought champagne to a private area after dusk, flowers, chairs, tables, candles... what an amazingly kind and thoughtful man. I'm going to write the manager about Horam tomorrow.

The people at the resort and even in the countryside seemed genuinely glad we were there. Got back today and trying to figure out how to budget to go back next year. AMAZING.

One weird thing - the room stunk after about 5 days. It smelled like sewage. Weird.

We just came back from Elegance. This was our 3rd time that we have been to this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and VIP service is awesome. The spa is great and highly recommend. The food has been very good each time we went to this hotel and this time was no exception. All the members of the hotel welcome you and want to make you happy.

Wowowow, we had a great relaxing time. Most of all the staff is spot on..Yes we did have a private check in, and hit a major snag, but overall was well taken care of. Ismael the manager worked efficiently and made things happen. We made it to our room which was impressive to say the least, lot's of space double sinks the works. Our maid (forget her name,) was great and patient!! Thankyou
Keilin and Clara were our go to bartenders and private sever at the pool and they were AWESOME!! Keilin always bubbly and willing to serve you in a hurry, never complaining while talking with everyone and making everyone included... Clara what can we say, a small little women with a smile the size of a rainbow, friendly and never dragging...thanks to both of you!! We've forgotten so many names but all the help servers and bartenders were Amazing!!!
For the partyers out there,(which we are) this isn't the place for you...Lobby bar closes at 1230 and the disco is small ,dark, hot, and loud, and carried an average of 25 people per night..
The 2 resorts boasts over 1000 thousand rooms but you rarely see any of them, your spread out alot with so many pools and diff areas, and if you meet people from the colonial, they can't join you for dinner or even at the pool for drinks or lounging.
Overall to lay low, have great service, food, drinks, chill and relax in peace,meet super friendly people doing the same, this is the place to be...thanks Majestic Shaggy and Bubbles

We went to the Majestic Elegance Jan 18-22 for a long weekend. It was the perfect getaway. This was our 3rd annual trip to the DR and we have now stayed at 3 resorts. They were all nice, but the Majestic Elegance was the nicest! The hotel itself is very classy. The grounds and buildings were all beautiful. We stayed in the adult only 'elegance' side of the hotel which has been expanded. The elegance club section is now 4 buildings; there is a new pool with it's own swim up bar in front of one of the buildings. This gave us a 'swim up' room which was great! The view may be better from the upper floors, but we couldn't complain about our location. My only comment about the rooms is that they may be awkward for a family with older kids or friends traveling together. the open concept bath area allows no privacy as you step out of the shower. When you step out of the shower, you are in the room. I'm sure you can have someone pass you some clothes into the shower or work around it, but it did seem a bit awkward. There are 3 private elegance club lounges with a concierge in each. I didn't see our 'butler' at all, as I'd read advertised, but these concierges were very helpful with any issues and dinner reservations. The resort is big but not too big, so it didn't really matter where your room was. It was not very crowded and we never had trouble finding chairs by any of the pools or at the beach. No vendors on the beach or at the resort is a plus, too! The restaurants were very good. We ate at the French, Italian, Steak and Japanese and all had good selections and the food quality and preparation was probably the best we have found at an all inclusive resort. Reservations were only needed for a couple of the restaurants, but they were easy enough to get if you made them earlier in the day. The other restaurants were 'walk in'; no reservations needed. The buffet was nice, it had a good selection of standard buffet fare with stations with made to order crepes, omelets and pastas; burgers and other meats cooked to order. We really enjoyed the buffet at the seafood restaurant at lunch. Loved the open air atmosphere there. Another good choice for either breakfast or lunch is a la carte dining at the Italian restaurant. We had one breakfast and one lunch there and enjoyed the menus. We had a couple minor inconveniences which were corrected very quickly, but overall the Majestic Elegance was top notch and very elegant! The drinks were great. The house drink is a majestic which tastes like a cremsicle. The cosmo's were great, too! A special thanks to Francis the bartender at the main lobby bar for his awesome 'Speedy Gonzalez! I can't imagine not liking this resort! We'll be back!
