My family and I just returned from a two week vacation here, and we had a wonderful time! We stayed in a villa that was impeccably clean, spacious and elegant. Our private pool was cleaned every morning, breakfast was served by our private chef and every bedroom not only had a king-size bed but also an en suite bathroom that was spacious, tiled in marble and featured a vessel sink.

We loved eating at the newest restaurant, Rodizio, where we had a parade of delicious grilled beef, pork, chicken and turkey carved right at our table. The service was attentive and sincere; anything we requested was delivered with a smile. The buffet restaurant, Casablanca, featured really delicious homemade soups, fresh salads, yummy meats and chickens and incredibly scrumptious ice cream every day. Dominican cafe con leche topped off every meal.

I loved lounging in the king-size sun beds on VIP beach. They keep me off the sand, have curtains that shield me from the tropical sun, and are comfortable enough for a nap. The beach isn't stark white, which means I can look at it as the glare doesn't hurt my eyes like a white sand beach does. My kids had fun in the waves and made a sand castle with turrets and rooms.

Every time we requested something like a drink, a snack, a ride or had a question about WiFi, the staff was very willing to help and seemed genuinely pleased to be of service. They appear to really enjoy working for the resort and frequently say, "I work for you," which tells me they have been trained and managed well.

We just love our vacations here. This was our fourth and we expect to return many more times.

this hotel did not except my prepaid confrimation for this hotel because the party with me was from the dominican republic. They wanted me to pay more money although I had paid reservations. They did not honor my reservations and turned me out into the street.

My wife and i booked a stay at this resort including transport from the airport. When we landed, the resort had not provided transport and the taxi drivers, which were extremely annoying and rude, would drive us there for $200! We said it was to much but they kept on annoying us.
We ended up canceling our reservation and checked in at another resort.

My family and I just returned from the Lifestyle resort in Puerto Plata and let me say we were delighted to be home! First, if you are expecting white sand and blue water, do not go to Puerta plata and do not stay at this resort. The beach is very small and dirty and the VIP area was extremely crowded. We stayed in the 2 bedroom presidential suites and the rooms were spacious, but they are looking very worn. There was mildew in the bathroom and ants in the kitchen. The food was gross, buffet for breakfast and lunch and always the same thing. Beans and rice are a staple and are the largest part of the buffet. The VIP restaurants were better and were assign to you each night, so you can't just eat at your favorite one. We paid a driver and guide to take us into town and we did get a pretty good tour of Puerta Plata, but the trip ended with him trying to take us to the business he had deals with to bring tourist into and were rather expensive, so we passed on the shopping. We also paid $100.00a person to go to Paradise Island, after a two hour bus ride and a 20 minute boat ride, ( we were not told in advance about the distance) we landed on this little patch of sand, There were no restroom facilities no towels and the only shade was a little hut where they served half a spam sandwich and a small cup of water or soda. We of course had to sit through a sells pitch at the resort, where they promptly ask you to plop down $80,000 to join so you can pay $1000.00 to stay in a villa for a week and they did not want to take NO for an answer. Most of the staff was friendly but the resort does not have much to do if your not there to drink. Let me conclude by say we all finished our books and know more about the multiple way to prepare beans than we ever wanted.
