“Hotel Atarazana ROCKS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

what a wonderful experience we had at Hotel Atarazana! my wife and I stayed for 8 days!, celebrating our 10yr anniversary-and breaking in the new year. this place exceeded our expectations! owner Susanne and staff [Patricia, Nyurka, Marie]...were so kind and lovely. the rooms were perfect-so clean! the breakfast is top notch-great flavors and superb attention to detail. we want to go back! this Hotel is in the best location...walking distance to pretty much everywhere. don't know what else to say, but, spectacular vacation...one that we will remember forever. thanks! oh yea, if you are here during baseball season...go to a local game!-unbelievable.

“Small place with TONS of charm”

My trip to Santo Domingo was an adventure to say the least. My flight came in really late and I had no way to call the hotel. It is small and privately owned. They left a note on the door for me when I finally arrived and the owner let me in. It was a wonderful room! And I had a really neat view. It was neat to get to the DR late and wake up to the view I had in the old colonial area. The breakfast courtyard was the highlight and the food was WONDERFUL. We sat outside and the interior design was magnificent. The price was right and I would stay here again in a heart beat.

“Great location, yummy breakfast and super friendly staff”

This hotel is just a block away from Plaza Espagna in the Zona Colonial - if you're in Santo Domingo to visit, you will want to stay in this part of town. Lots of great restaurants close by and everything is in walking distance. Our room was very clean, and the whole place is beautifully decorated. Breakfast was very good (fresh fruit, juice, eggs, good bread and of course good coffee). Susanne was an amazing resource in recommending restaurants, places to visit and made sure that our stay was perfect. Would recommend this place to anybody coming to Santo Domingo for pleasure or business.

“Nice small hotel in the heart of the Zona Colonial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This hotel is well located and the owners provide excellent service -- filtered water, a public computer, and a lovely breakfast. They also referred us to an excellent taxi driver we used to go to other parts of the island. The hotel is charmingly decorated and has a fantastic rooftop garden. The room we were in was small but extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked well and was quiet. There is wireless access and a phone in the room. Televisions are small, but you're not there to watch TV! Overall, I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the back if you want a quieter location.

“Great Place!”

I stayed at Atarazana for several days at the end of October and I have nothing but praise for this place. Very clean, quite and secure. Staff is great and welcoming and helpful. Rooms are cozy and very nice and the whole place has a great ambience. The breakfast is delicious and very fresh. This is a great place to stay when visiting the Colonial Zone and the place deserves its top rating at Tripadvisor.
