This hotel, like all, has its pros and cons. One big pro is its location. It is located within walking distance from El Conde, Hard Rock Cafe, a park, many dining/drinking establishments. This is a great place to stay if you don't have a car and don't want to spend a lot of money on taxis to get around the city. The rooms are ok. The pictures posted on the website are a little deceiving. They rooms are decorated the way they appear in the photos (which is good), but in my opinion the rooms are much smaller than they appear in the photos. The bathroom is fairly small and the shower is quite small. One suggestion I have- when making the reservation ask for a room with a balcony. It gives you a little more space in your little dwelling and you can enjoy the view of the city streets. Food at the hotel is good. The elevator is one of the smallest I have ever been in. The power went out (se fue la luz) during our stay and it took a while for it to be restored. There was a mini fridge in our room which was useful for water and a few food items. One weird thing with the hotel is that someone stops by (not the cleaning person) every day and notes if you have used any of the items in the mini bar or other toiletries that aren't complimentary. Although they stopped by every day, they didn't document the items on our bill. For example, we used one of the toothbrushes offered by the hotel ($70 RD) on our first night of our 5 night stay. The guy came by the room the next day and presumably documented on his clipboard that we used the toothbrush. He also stopped by the next 4 mornings. Upon check-out, they asked if we used anything from the mini bar and had no record of us using the toothbrush. The front desk called the guy and he confirmed that we used the toothbrush. Not a huge deal, but it made us wonder why someone interrupted our mornings to check the mini bar if that information was never passed on to anyone. Anyway, overall a decent place to stay and very close to a lot of things to do.
