I've been in this place at least 10 times for the last 2 years and i hightly recomend it. The food is great, Good food prices. Very clean, Front desk the best. 24 Hrs security makes you confortable,a nice market one block away, Terrific breakfast. All it needs to be perfect is a pool and more parking space.. Right on the center of el conde. ( ciudad colonial) All in all a wonderful place. Again i recomended . Thanks Samuel and staft.

Stayed in room #424 - Very, very small. Clean. No big deal of a hotel. Good Value for the money. Good Breakfast. Zero ambiance.

Try the Mercure Comercial in the heart of the Colonial Zone, and you will be pleasantly surprised. As a woman traveler, I was a bit nervous about visiting Santo Domingo on my own, but I needn't have worried ~ it was a delightful stay at the Mercure. A computer was available in the lobby to check e-mails, and the front-desk staff were very helpful and spoke English. The room was the type you will find in Europe, small but charming. The door had a deadbolt, which made me feel safe. The room was very clean ~ all tile floors. Price was quite reasonable. I had a small problem with over-charges for the mini-bar, but it was quickly and pleasantly resolved. I don't know why some reviews have mentioned mold and bugs ~ no sign of either in my three-night stay. I would highly recommend the Mercure.

As a first timer in the Dominican Republic, I was a little list. The staff at Mercure was SO HELPFUL! They gave clear directions when I needed them, called for cabs, as well as gave honest suggestions as to what to purchase in the country. Mercure is perfectly located on Calle del Conde and has a great restaurant overlooking the street. Just bring earplugs as this popular street does not seem to sleep. Only complaint? My pillow smelled a bit like mildew. Other than that, my stay was wonderful and I will definitely consider staying here again!
