“Sweet inn with a perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012 via mobile

We stayed at Titiwi inn at the end of January and totally enjoyed our stay. Janet and kieth were the owners and they went out of there way to make our stay perfect. The location was perfect right on the water and close to town and the many sites we visited. The water falls, diving and the boiling lake are all very recommended, although I recommend to save the boiling lake for last because of how sore we were. Janet are kieth were very helpful in arranging or gathering information for all our excursions we did while we were in Dominica. This was definitely an enjoyable visit with our friendly inn keepers assistance.

“Great owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Stayed here for three nights because we got a reduced rate. Perfectly clean place with friendly and interesting owners. It's about a 20 minute walk into 'downtown' Roseau, through a not-so-great neighborhood. But we walked it three times during the day, once with our big backpacks, and had no problems. You can also just wait right outside the hotel for one of the many buses into town - cheap and easy. We took the bus one day to Scott's Head for snorkeling - again, very easy and cheap way to see the country. Lots of buses.

ALDive dive shop is right down the block, and they'll pick you up and drop you off at no charge, since the road is somewhat hairy - no sidewalk and fast cars. There are also a few hotels nearby that offer food (Anchorage - food not so good, but happy drink specials are great). Zam Zam restaurant is GREAT!

Best part of the hotel - take some time to get to know Janet and Keith. I very much appreciated that Keith took us into town at night so that we could have food to take on the boiling lake hike.

“A great place to stay if you have to stay in Roseau.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

I think what I liked the least about Titiwi Inn was the fact that it was in Roseau, on a narrow road full of road hazards, much like everything in Roseau. The Inn itself is quite cozy and the hosts, which are probably what I liked the most about the Titiwi Inn, were very gracious and hospitable. There was never any pressure to buy extra services from them, though we did get the breakfast every day since it was so convenient, and getting around Roseau is so inconvenient. One possible drawback if you're renting a car is that parking outside the Inn is very limited. However, we never had a problem with getting parking right out front. The room was clean and cozy, and the view from the oceanfront room was absolutely fantastic, especially at sunset! Definitely get the oceanfront room - it is well worth the extra money. Despite being a rather small room, it was well laid out and space wasn't an issue even with our two large suitcases. The bathroom was in very good shape, and though we didn't use the pool (I much prefer swimming in the ocean) it looked lovely. The hosts also have a boat and can take you on custom tours for an extra charge. had this hotel been in another part of Dominica, we would have loved it, but we found Roseau too noisy and busy for our taste.

“A True Pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2011

This will be a “straight to the point” review of our trip to the Commonwealth of Dominica. We had the pleasure of staying at two inns and I dove at a local dive shop. Let me start by saying if you are the type of person that is looking for or enjoys Hiltons, Sandals, or the Ritz Carlton type of accommodations, Dominica is not the place for you. This country has taken an eco-friendly approach, limiting the amount of topographical and environmental changes it allows. Thus, the natural beauty of this country is preserved and not destroyed through commercial industrialization.

Our first stay was at the Titiwi Inn, Roseau, Dominica, it was outstanding. The hospitality and personalized treatment by owners Keith and Janet was the best. They are located in the capital, so you have access to shops and restaurants if you chose to walk or take a taxi, it’s not far. Keith has a new 32 foot boat, if you chose the personal touch for whale watching, snorkeling, scuba or deep sea fishing, he can accommodate you. And can make arrangements for your hiking, river tubing, or tropical forest explorations. “Janet and Keith you have a jewel of a place and we will be back next year”.

Our next stay was at the “Silks Hotel” in Marigot, Dominica, for those of you who want a truly jungle/tropical experience this is the place. No televisions, clubs, shopping malls, just the beautiful forest, water falls and river. Joe and Emily will treat you like royalty and ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and very romantic; the food excellent, this place is for relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the tropical forest. We only spend one night here, but it was well worth it.

For those of you that enjoy diving, Dominica surpasses most of the other Caribbean islands in its determination to stay as natural as possible, especially its coastal areas and marine preserve. I dove with “AlDive” in Roseau and from the time we entered the water the natural beauty was evident. The abundance of marine life and healthy coral reefs were astonishing. My wife, who is not a diver decided after snorkeling to try the “Discover Scuba”, just because of the abundance of marine life she observed during her snorkeling time. I have try over the past several years to get her to try scuba, without success. The owners of AlDive, Samantha and Billy are the best and I give them the highest accolades for making her feel comfortable enough to try scuba, for being safety oriented and accommodating to their customers, this will not be the last time I dive with this shop.

Again, for those that want to relax and enjoy an eco-friendly island/country, where the people are friendly, not harassing you for money or to buy souvenirs, and the natural beauty of the tropical forest, rivers, and coral reefs hasn’t been polluted, this is the place.

“BOOKED 3 NIGHTS, STAYED 14!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 March 2011

My wife and I, after reading reviews of various accomodations in Dominica on TRIP ADVISOR, thought the TITIWI an adequate place to stay for the beginning of our 14 days in DOMINICA.. After the first night in the ocean front EMERALD POOL room, we decided to stay for 10 nights and then move on for the last 4... Why? Because it was perfect!!!!..First, our hosts, Janet and Keith were delightful and guided us to great local restaurants and were ever helpful with information about this incredibly beautiful island..As for the location of the TITIWI, it was on the main road, only a short 20 minute walk to Roseau, the Capitol.. And, more importantly, one can easily reach any part of the island's natural sights within a 2 hour drive..
So, after a few more days, we realised that there was no point going anywhere else, and decided to remain at the TITIWI for the full 14 days..
As for the room, all we can say is that it was first rate..Our balcony over looked the Caribbean, so close one felt you could dive in from our room..The pool below us was refreshing to cool off in after a day of sightseeing.. Also, fine local restaurants were within a 5 minute stroll down the road.. Beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was clean and everything functioned well..Our door opened to a comfortable living room, just off a fully equipped kitchen where we prepared breakfast each morning..

And one final note. One evening Janet prepared a sumptuous dinner for us of local fare including fresh fish, local veggies, and a pumpkin soup that was absolutely delicious..

We highly recommend the TITIWI..Yes, we plan to return some day..

Thank you, Janet and Keith!!!!
