My wife and I have traveled many places with many wonderful experiences. When we came upon Beau Rive on trip advisor we were skeptical. The majority of reviews (150+) were exceptional with hardly a negative comment. Usually this is the other way around. Could this place be that exceptional? The answer is YES!!! The other guest (reviews) do all they can to capture the essence of Beau Rive with great success. Even so, our expectations were exceeded in every way during our stay. Only when you arrive and experience Beau Rive for yourself will you understand.
Mark, thank you so much! You are a very special and inspirational in so many ways. You and your staff made this our best vacation ever. We look forward to having many more visits to Dominica and building on our new found friendship.

*** Mark has a driver Kenny he recommends for getting around the island if needed. We have seen many nice reviews regarding Kenny. Something of importance we think everyone should know. Kenny works as an emergency ambulance driver and has many friends within the police department. In our opinion, safety is not an issue on Dominica. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. However, knowing we had someone with us to help if any issues of health or safety arose was very assuring. If you need a driver to show you around we highly recommend using Kenny.

Last year I promised myself I would return to Beau Rive. Ten months later and I was back. Like many other guests who have done the same this visit confirmed that there is no other place on earth I'd prefer to be to escape the anxieties of everyday living. The atmosphere is utterly relaxed, there are no distractions other than the natural wonders of Dominica, plenty of which one can view from the balconies of the hotel (all the rooms look over the fabulous garden of native trees, flowers and fruit to the sea beyond, the mountains and dense rain forest surround) The sound of the waves crashing against the shore is a constant and natural de-stresser.
The fabulous standard of natural, beautifully cooked food, the unpretentious staff and Mark, the proprietor's, attitude and attention to the individual needs of his guests, is matchless. Beau Rive is the tranquil base from which to explore all the island has to offer. I'm returning in the Spring.

This was our second stay with Mark and his staff (not to forget, Mildred, Florence, Maximilian, Puss and Frederick). Why we came back?

It is a first class, private hotel, with excellent management and service. Here we felt like a member of this small hotel family. We had a privilege to enjoy delicious local cuisine, lovely prepared with Mark's recepies and from fresh local ingredients. It couldn't have been better as in Michelin * restaurant. Dining under stars and full moon was unforgettable experience. Try grapefruit marmalade at breakfast.

The hotel is located within flush, beautiful garden, with pool to refresh or a short walk to nearby fresh water river. We can recommend this hotel for travellers / couples who are looking for total relaxation in beautiful natural surroundings. Where you can fall in sleep with the sound of Atlantic and the symphony orchestra of Dominican tree frogs.

For those who miss their pets at home, furry staff can keep you nice company during your stay.

We did not have a car during our visit. Instead Mark arranged us Kenny, local driver, who we can further recommend. He took us to places, not on normal tourist trail, and his knowledge of local flora and fauna was amazing.

We are convinced if you are going to visit this nice location, you also will return. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Mark and Beau Rive.

We came to Beau Rive and felt like coming home. Everything was so lovely arranged. Mark is really friendly and helpful. He helped us each time and gave us really good tips. After an exhausting day with a lot of impressions in Dominica we were looking forward to come back to Beau Rive and have the most delicious dinner all over the island. It is more than words can say, to sit on the veranda, have the great dinner with good wine.. and good coctails afterwards. And not to forget the breakfast with fresh fruits and the best juice I´ve ever had.
The rooms are really nice as well. With wooden floors and nice balcony with an impressive view to the ocean. For us Beau Rive is the best place to stay in Dominica. Mark and his team have a feeling for that what makes a guest happy.
