My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt from 5th-11th April to celebrate our Silver Wedding. It was the perfect choice on my husband's part who had spent a long time deciding on the right hotel in Curacao. The recurring theme of its "away from it all" location is what appealed to us, although our map reading skills were certainly put to the test and a lack of signposts on the island did not help matters!
On arrival we were greeted by Nisa who made sure we had the best room available on the 3rd floor with an ocean view, "very romantic" as she put it. As it would not be ready for another half an hour, we were offered a cocktail of our choice on the house. Within 20 minutes the room was ready and not long after that a bottle of champagne arrived congratulating us on our Silver Wedding. What a wonderful start to our holiday!
In fact, everything about our stay at the Hyatt was excellent. The breakfast buffet was particularly good despite the fact the hotel was at full occupancy. Always plentiful supply of anything and everything you could want, from smoked salmon/cold cuts, full cooked options including egg station, to freshly baked breads/muffins/pastries. Delicious! I should mention the lovely Angela, Augustus and Alan who always looked after us so well at breakfast and ensured the cups of tea/coffee kept coming.
I have to say we did not ever use the swimming pools because they seemed quite lively with the amount of families staying and therefore opted for the serenity of the beach and ocean for swimming. No problem finding a quiet spot with loungers under a shady tree, bliss...
All in all a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The oceanside location and beautiful landscaping makes the Hyatt special, but they have got the whole package with well trained staff and luxurious, spotless facilities.
By the way, we did go and check out the Marriot and Hilton just to make sure we had made the right choice, and we had. Not a patch on the Hyatt and a little too near the smell from the oil refinery/desalination plant downtown!
