Dear Traveller. Stayed in room with a balcony, overlooking the pool, okay, clean. Nice view of the sea. Lift was rattling. One was out of service all throughout our 10 days stay in May 2011. The pool didn't look clean. We swam in the sea everyday. Food is of a very very poor quality. Salad was icy frozen when served, the same, everytime, everyday - we went all inclusive. No seafood, very disappointing, when we complained to the hotel manager after we had stayed there 6 days. They served up some tiny sea shells, didn't look appetising or taste nice at all. Desserts same everyday. Ended up eating rice pudding everyday. All the desserts were overloaded with sugar, I told them to get a reciepe book. All the food tastes very bland, no taste. They serve a lot of pork. They did barbecue for lunch, they were cooking chicken & pork together. I did complain about that. General hotel staff speak very little English, sometimes it was hard to communicate. Reception staff spoke reasonably good English. There is small market to the left of the hotel, which I discovered when looking out of our balcony. It sells souveniors, resonably cheap compared to if you walk further down the road. The locals come down to the beach on the weekend. They had drinks bar right on the beach, our first. Its brilliant for all inclusive. When you feeling hot & parched after being on the beach, its great to be able to walk to the bar for a drink. Can get coconuts if you ask the boys on the beach, got to pay, then I had them make me a cocktail in the coconut. Kayak, paddle-boat, catamaran all included in the all inclusive, can use as many times as you want. The beach man takes you out to sea in the catamaran, you ask him. They make you sign a form, if there is an accident you can't sue them. There were only 5 parasols on the beach. Complained to the spanish manager who said he had ordered some new beach umbrellas & he was expecting delivery soon. If you didn't get one then you could sit under the shade of the coconut and other beach side trees. The best thing is the beach which is like a 2 minute walk from the hotel, soft white sand & clear turquoise blue water. Absolutely gorgeous for a swim. Loved it!!! It made up for all other imperfections. One of the best beaches I have swam in. And of course light up one of their hand rolled cigars - rated the best in the world. Its gotta be done! I am not a connoisseur of cigars but had fun trying!
On our last day we went to Caya Blanca Island, day trip on a big catamaran. Lunch included lobster (1 lil piece) and fish our first proper seafood on this trip. Was good,it also included the dolophin show. Had a chance to get close to the dolophin & take some pictures. Brilliant experience. Can swim with the dolophin if you want to, but i didn't, the water was green & didn't look inviting.
