“4th time to cuba best resort yet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

As a 21 year old travelling with my family for the 4th annual trip to cuba i found breezes varadero to be a fun, lively resort that is close to town and the golf course. I went the last week of october and would go back again. The weather was good and the beach is excellent. I found this resort to have the nicest atmosphere of people and everyone was so nice, guests and workers included. The general manager Cleveland was very customer service oriented and was the nicest, most helpful manager at any resort ive been to and helped me on several occasions to make my stay the best it can be!. He is always looking for ways to improve the resort and your stay there and is always around for a good chat about anything you would like to know. As a resort near a golf course i knew there would be alot of older clients but i found a solid group of around 10 people who were always ready to party and hit the disco. The catamaran, dolphin interaction, lobster lunch, and all day open bar is the best day trip ive ever done in cuba....not to mention snorkeling is included-we went to a sunken ship because the water was rough in the usual place. I would definatly recommend this resort to young and older people as this resort had many people returning to it---especially 2 roudy brothers in their 40's who are hilarious and always a fun group to have a few drinks with.. the kareokee bar was a highlight also as everyone has a great time- singing u gotta fight for ur right to parrrtty!

Room Tip: get a junior suite

“Breezes Varadero”

Stayed at Breezes Varadero with friends on a golf week. My second time there. First trip was just ok but nothing to write home about. Beach was nice and the golf course great. Service this time however was very poor and the food and wine were horrid. The service has dropped substantially. If you dont tip, your ignored. The place is under much needed repair and thats good to see. Ate at Martinos and the decore is beautiful but the food I just couldnt eat. The shrimp cocktails were grainy and some people we were with, myself included got ill during the week, We are pretty sure it was the food. The rest of the meal was awful. All I can say is I did witness the staff being tuned up one morning because of all the complains and the service was a little better but no where near what one would expect at other hotels. If you dont tip them, they dont know you. The friends we had gone with and the ones we met saved the vacation, but other than that it sucked. Mexico surpasses Cuba with ease for food and service. The entertainment however is great. Loved the dancers. Very talented. BUT this is the first time Ive seen employees getting tourists to sneak drinks to them .Very unprofessional. Will I go back. , MAYBE , But only if I cant afford a good place and only for the golf and a cheapy getaway. Other than that, I would not recommend this place. There lucky to get a 3 star. Ide say its a 2 at best.

Room Tip: Be careful what and where you eat. Martinos is not good. Its all show and no go. Try the restaraunts...

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for posting your comments on Trip Advisor and regret that your vacation experience was less than expected.
In our continued program of improvement, the hotel organizes refresher courses in Customer Service and corrective action is necessary when we fall short of these goals.
The hotel in its 20 plus years of existence has never had a swim up bar and there are no plans for one in the immediate future, we do have however several bars that operate with the following schedule:
Lobby Bar 24 hours
Pool Bar 07h00 - 10h00 Coffee, Tea and Juice Service 10h00 - 01h00 Full Service
Bar Duna 11h00 - 23h00 Full Service
Beach Bar 10h00 - 23h00 Full Service
Coffee Bar 11h00 - 23h00
Martino's Bar 18h00 - 22h00 Full Service
Discotheque 22h30 - 02:00 Full service
Kind regards,

From Elisabeth(guest relations mgr) to Eduardo, to Cleveland the GM. great people. Trip to Havana with the best tour guide Jose, and the greatest driver Omar. Loved the coffee bar..Cafe Boom Boom anyone?. Sylvia our NoliTours rep, was just as sweet. Swimming with the dolphins..Priceless. The beach, was a WOW...We will return next year for sure.

“Great Holiday at a Great Resort”

My wife and I just came back from 2 weeks at this resort and we have only positives to report. This is a very well kept resort with great service. Our suite was spacious and we were well taken care of by the maid Maritsa. There was good food daily accompanied by good entertainment. The Cuban restaurant, a special treat with kudos to Jorge. The buffet was well appointed, service was excellent, thanks especially to Ismary and Karina. And thanks to you Alfredo for the nightly large portions of good dark rum.

“Best adults only bang for your buck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My wife and I have had enjoyable stays at Breezes in 2007 and 2010. Last year, we decided to try something new, and booked a trip to Punta Cana, DR. We stayed in a big resort, and it seemed so impersonal compared to the Breezes. After reading recent reviews, we've decided to go back to Breezes in a couple of weeks.

This resort is several hundred dollars cheaper per couple than other adult only I've researched along the Varadero strip. It's only rated 4-star due to it's smaller size, and maybe lack of large conference centre. If you're looking for a cozy, beautiful, comfortable adults only getaway, this is the place for you!

This adult only resort is the perfect size with a short walk from any room to the beach, buffet and main lobby. There are only 270 rooms, so the poolside or beach are never crowded and this resort spans a fair section of the soft white sandy beaches.

Many of the guests we met at the Breezes are return visitors to the resort. Everyone is friendly and it's easy to make new friends.

The service it top of the line, Cubans love Canadians, and we love them back. They make amazing cappuccinos in the lobby bar, I would visit every morning. Make sure to tip and be genuine about it. Show them you appreciate their hard work and service.

The food and drinks are ample and delicious, there is something there for everyone. When I go away, I typically stick to foods I can identify, so if the mystery mixed veggie and meat dish looks questionable, I just avoid it and move on. Trust me, you will not go hungry.

Note: This resort has a long 3-storey hotel building where the disco is located (and right next to the neighbouring noisy resort), so if you book a Jr. suite or super select room at this place, you will end up here. If you're there to party all night and don't care about sleep, this block of rooms will suit you just fine. Otherwise, pay the extra $$ and upgrade to gardenview or Oceanview.

Well worth the money!

Room Tip: Super select and Jr. suites are in a 3-storey building (some rooms close to the disco,) and gardenvi...
