Stayed 1 night as part of a 14 day tour (UK based - 38 persons). Keywords seem to be quaint, historic, central, the real Cuba, good staff - to which could be added noisy, claustrophobic rooms, indifferent food quality. The central courtyard and bar area is very pleasant. The ambiance created by the building, tiling, woodwork and rather faded decoration is comfortable. The 3.00am onwards shunting at the nearby railway yard was a really negative aspect of our stay. We enjoy the place for what it was and is.

We stayed here for 1 night while touring and we really liked the place. It has the feel of an old style mansion with a lovely courtyard and superb woodwork around the bars and reception. The rooms are tiny but were clean and after all they are only for sleeping in.The hotel is centrally located and is ok for 1 or 2 nights. Any longer and the very small rooms could become an issue. The food was ok although the choice was a little limited. The dining room was being refurbished so the reception area was being used which meant that they could only cope with one tour group at a time. The French group following us had to hang around until we moved out before they could find seats for dinner. A bit noisy overnight with railway trains and roosters vying with each other noisewise. The service on arrival and in the restaurant was fine.

we were lodged here as part of our 15 day grand tour of Cuba so that there might well be better twin bedded rooms if one books directly. The meals were ok, the beds, as everywhere on our tour -good but the room was very cramped especially with our two rather large bags. Being in the middle of the town we found it ideal for exploring.

We stayed there for two nights, and it was ok. The room was small, but the beds were good and the bathroom renovated. Helpful staff.
