My boyfriend and I stayed at this casa in June 2009 (I stayed for 9 nights and he joined me for the last 7 nights). I felt totally safe in the casa for my first two nights alone and everyone in the home goes to great lengths to make you feel welcome!

Lilly is very friendly and professional which gives you reassurance (I was a bit nervous before landing in Cuba about what the accommodation/payment arrangements would be like, but Lilly squashed those fears)! Ramon is so helpful and is always willing to give information on places to visit, the history of Cuba and help you with accommodation if you want to visit any other Cuba cities (he arranged our accommodation for us in Trinidad - definitely worth a visit if you have the time)!

The only slight downsides were that sometimes the lift doesn't work and the apartment is on the 13th floor, but at least it's a good workout for the legs! Also, it's a little distance from Old Havana where some of the main attractions are, but most of the time my boyfriend and I took the tour bus to Old Havana for 5CUC each (or just take a cab for around 3-4CUC). However, it was nice to finish partying and then head home to peaceful Vedado; plus it is very close to two hotels where you can book tours, use the internet etc.

If I go to Cuba again I would definitely spend some time here again!

This is definitely a superb, value-for-money place to stay in Havana!

We loved staying at Lilly’s and Ramon’s house. The whole family are so friendly and helpful, not forgetting Mina, the loveable dog. They are all really interesting people and they all spent some time to talk to us. Ramon taught us loads about Cuba and was helpful in answering all of our many questions. He booked our bus tickets and called other casa particulars in Cuba to find out their availability. He also made sure we got into safe taxi’s by helping us to arrange our transport.

The apartment has a great view, good clean bedrooms, amazing breakfast (the best food we had in Cuba). There is a good vibe from the artwork around the house and an efficient laundry service. It is located in a safe area. It was about 40 minutes walk to the center of town or 5 minutes in a taxi which are cheap enough to take frequently. We would definitely stay here again!
