The staff were not particularly nice. Rooms were ok and clean. There's a safe in the room you just have to ask for the key. But the ceiling in the bathroom leaked....hot water was sketchy. And the food wasn't good. The location is very central but I wouldn't particularly recommend staying here.

Very basic, small hotel room. Could be a lot cleaner and need some repair in bathroom. Very basic breakfast. Airo did’nt work. There are probably better places for the same price.

The reason I chose to stay in this hotel, was because I thought it was value for money. BUT it is not. The hotel is run by Habanaguex which is a state company operating several other hotels and monuments. Habanaguex means poor maintenance. The con is that during your stay you get a ticket that gives you free entrance to several state museums and galleries.
The rooms of the hotel are not in a good condition. They are dirty, (sheets, walls, floor) the beds are really worn down, breakfast is poor and tasteless. A three star hotel in Cuba is equal to a two star hotel by European or US standards. But to be fair with the hotel, I must admit that it is located in an excellent location (between Old Havana and Centro Havana) right next to the Revolution museum and the museum of Modern art (which is worth a visit) and less than 5 min walk from the Capitolio, the Malecon, Havana Vieja. Also the employees were polite and helpful and the aircondition was working.
But still for what the hotel has to offer I think that the price is too high. If it is your first stay in Cuba, don't hesitate to stay in a casa. This is the budget option for Cuba, not a hotel. You will definitely get more with less money.

Apart from it's location and friendly staff, this hotel did not have much going for it for me. We had a major leakage in the shower when our upstairs neighbours were taking a shower. Breakfast was okay the first day when there was a buffet (in the weekend), but the day after the buffet was non-existend and we got some bread on the table with minor choice of what to put on it.

I must admit that I do not have many other hotels in Cuba to compare this one with. We mainly stayed in Casas Particulares (which I would really recommend!!)
