In comparison to some of the hotels we stayed in Cuba this place was a palace! We stayed here for the first and last nights of a cycling tour and it was OK.
Our room was fine, clean and pretty up to date. The hallway could have done with an update but it was perfectly acceptable. We had two good nights of sleep.
The food? Well we avoided the buffet thanks to previous reviewers' recommendations. Others on our tour did go to the buffet and were not at all impressed. As others have commented, they make you pay up front at Reception before you go in. We went to the snack bar and had a pizza which was ok, hot and fresh. Service was a bit slow but we were in no rush and it came with a smile. We found all the staff fine with us.
Breakfast was well stocked, although as with lots of places in Cuba the bread was a bit gritty and the coffee! Well, just don't ask about the coffee. You would be better taking a few sachets of instant with you!
The location is a bit out of town if you are exploring the city but this didn't matter to us. So somewhere to lay your head for a short stay. We had 3 nights in Havana at the end of our trip and stayed at the Parque Central in the centre which was fantastic.
