“Nice budget hotel”

My wife and I found this hotel on Redtag.ca, so we booked after reading several reviews about how nice this hotel was. when we arrived to the hotel, we found that the peoples who work there were very friendly and show respect to us. Rooms were very clean and open space, there was hot water all the time. Location is very good, you can go anywhere walking or taking the public transportation (buses) We have breakfast included with our package, I can say it was fine, sometimes the fruits they served were not good, but overall was very decent. There are 2 things that I wanted to mention, there is no way to make a phone call from the hotel, also there is not way to go online because there are not internet connection anywhere near by. I think we will select this Hotel next time if they improve a little bit more.

Room Tip: The third floor is the best and quite.

“Pro and cons”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed here in total 4days, first and last leg of our 11 days trip. First the pros;
The hotel is located in a quiet and good neighbourhood with nice small houses that lines its ave.Its is a good average priced hotel that comes with fairly clean rooms and good hot water pressure shower. Though it isn't walking distance from old town and centro, a cab costs about 5 cuc, it is walkable to Hotel Nacional abt 20 mins.Breakfast is really minimal but sufficent for a light eater like me but has good coffee. Now the cons,if you are on the lower floors you may get awaken in the night by the loud dripping noise on the ac from the floor right above. That can really keep you from sleeping which was what happened to me until I found a quick fix of throwing a towel over it to muffle the noise.A/c has a humming noise like in all places in cuba.Helpful and polite staff.Overall a very decent place to sleep off the fatigue after a full day exploring

“a week in this hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

The rooms were clean as people have written earlier and the cleaning ladies really did a great job! The breakfast was a bit poor... toast, eggs and ham every morning and some fruit/juice. The coffey was good :)

The location wasn't so good. From the hotel review I understood that it is located "near to everything" but it really wasn't. We had to take a taxi to the city almost everyday. Few times we walked there but it took a long time. The nearest beach was quite a far away (almost 20 km) so if you want to go to the beach too I would recommend you to take a hotel at least from the old town (it decreases the distance with few kilometres).

Some complains about the hotel:
My boyfriend got very ill during the trip (an ameba from the water) and he neeed water during the night time. Well... the receptionist just told me that there is no place in the hotel to get water during the night time and I have to go out to find some water. (The hotel restaurant was closed) I think this was very bad service... hotels should absolutely have some water to sell during the night time too!

Also most of the receptionists didn't speak english at all and in the breakfast the workers english was even worse.

This is a OK hotel for people that are happy with a clean room, but don't need much more.

“Good Value for Your Money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Hotel Habana Paseo
is a Fairly New Hotel located in a Quiet Residencial Zone of Havana, its a basic Hotel yet Comfortable and One of the Best 2-3 star Hotek Category in Havana

Check In: Check In was very slow due to a Guest complaining about Problems in his Room at 11pm and The front desk trying to fix it best the could. The Receptionist was friendly and checked me in promptly. She directed me to the elevators, but there was no one to help out with my luggage which would of been nice after a long day of Travel. The lobby was on the small size but tastefully decorated with lots of Comfortable rocking chairs. All the Public areas of the Hotel had a nice turn of the century feel to it.

The Room:
My Room located on the 3rd floor was spacious simply furnished but everything was very new.It Had two double beds,A Desk, CableTV and Tall Windows with a Nice View of Havana. The Bathroom was also pretty Big with Good Water Pressure and Hot water. My only disapointment was the fact they had no towels and when requested some from the front desk I was informed that they didnt have any because their Laundry service was out of order which I found quite odd for a Hotel,Then again this is Cuba

Restaurant/Bar:
The Hotel included free breakfast, which turned out to be OK but Got boring quick as it was always the same. Toast,Eggs,Juice and Coffee. Their Menu was also very limited for Lunch/Dinner but the food was tasty and cheap. Most meals were 4 Dollars or Less.
The Bar served decent cheap drinks. They had all the Basic cocktails and about 4 types of beers.

Staff:The staff was the best part of the Hotel,They were always friendly and willing to help.Tipping increased the Good service and all my needs were met.

Overall I feel I got a Good Value for 33 cuc a Night,Then again Im not one of these tourist That pay dirt cheap prices for packages and expect 5 star resort service at a Basic Hotel. If Youre looking for a place to be Pampered,To eat gourmet food and to have someone at your beck and call 24/7 this is definatly not the place for you.If Youre Looking for Good service on a Basic level. This Hotel is on the top of the list.

Room Tip: When ever you can leave small tips to the Hotel Staff and you get even better service

This hotel is build recently. Very clean, hot water, . I have gone to cuba many times. I had stayed in many hotels . One the best clean places to stay. As a canadian i advise anyone traveling to havana to stay at hotel passeo. Prices are good also. The hotel is also located in a very good area. . 5min from the center of havana. Best part of this hotel is that there is a hospital located not far. If case you need it.
Have fun.
