Having read some of the reviews after booking this trip we were a little concerned but the reality was much better than expected! One review said staff were unfriendly, I could not disagree more!! We were treated with courtesy and utter friendliness at all times. The bar was fully stocked and the food much better than I was led to believe, warm fresh bread every meal time along with freshly cooked meats and pasta. Breakfast freshly cooked eggs to order, fresh fruit every meal time.
Yes the rooms are very basic but clean and yes we did have a double bed! Room to beach 2 minutes ... if you take your time!!! Pool clean and a complete suntrap if there is an on shore breeze. There is a poolside bar which is 10 seconds from the beach. Free Hobbi Cat trips, kayka's, pedalalos, beach volley ball, table tennis. We hired the Hobbi cat and went down the coast for some fabulous coral reef snorkling.

Bang for the Buck! 24 hr small bar, beach to be shared with locals if that is ok with you. To me the more the better, loud music all over. Great massage, after a well spent night in Havana. 3 Star what can we expect, Grill is ok. The Buffet is basic. The rooms are clean and always tip for better service. Don't forget to top all your meals with Rum to avoid unpleasant stomach situations. The Beach is gorgeous and long, great for swimming. The East Havana beaches are regularly frequented by Cubans mostly on weekends. There are a few bars and grill huts around the area if you wish to have a better meal. Overall it is about Bang for the Buck.

First, Don't expect something extraordinary it's Cuba!
We were there for Christmas. The bars and restaurants were awesome. food quality was good( off course in Cuban scales). they had a fantastic Christmas lunch and dinner.
The room was OK, clean but still needs renovation.
There was a bartender there, I forgot the name, he was making one of the best Mojitos and Cappuccinos I have ever had... beach and swimming poll was also very good.
Furthermore, the hotel is located in a nice resort area called Santa Maria Del Mar , 30 Kms away from old Havana (free shuttle for old Havana is provided), it was nice to walk around and also there is currency exchange close to the hotel if you are looking for lower rates...

A wonderful beach in front of the hotel but the ambience is completely spoiled by the loud, thumping music they play all day at the pool and the beach. I had to walk 200 metres down the beach until I couldn't hear it. People go to Cuba to hear great music, not the crap the young guys in charge of the music play. I made suggestions but they couldn't care less. That's Cuba for you. This is an all inclusive hotel so you have to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. And it's absolutely appallingly bad. I've never found worse food in Cuba. God knows why anyone would want to stay there. Horrible!!!
