No problems.... Rooms were clean. The fridge was stocked with all kinds of drinks. Terrace over looking the Plaza de Arms was the best. I got great service from everyone working at the property. The Resturant on the roof was superb. Will be back.

When we checked in, we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a suite. We said no, and they gave us the worst standard room they got, even thought the hotel was pretty empy. The room faced another building, and we can see a duck in the apartment facing us.
The service attitude of the staff were not good. They were not enthusiastic at all. I would not stay in this hotel again for sure.

We stayed in this hotel the last two nights of our Cuba Trip, as we planned to spoil ourselves. Considering the price you pay, it is not worth staying there, especially because of the stuff who constantly wants to fool you:

1. They overcharged the bill for drinks
2. They wanted to sell us tickets for the Cabaret Parisién asking almost double the price of what we paid directly at the Hotel Nacional
3. The security guard wanted to sell us fake cigars

To be fair, one also has to mention that the rooms are quite nice and the breakfast is rich for cuban standard. Nevertheless, we were constantly a bit upset about all those small incidents. In all the casas particulares we stayed before, we had ten times the better service for a friction of what we paid in the Hotel Santa Isabel. I would therefore not recommend to book this hotel.

Contrary to some of the other reviews on this hotel we had a lovely 5 night stay here. We had a standard room on the corner with french doors that gave us views in two directions. The staff were very helpful - gave us directions, made and confirmed dinner reservations for us. The food for breakfast was better than I expected but not great. It's not a true 5 star hotel but it's good for Havana. The only real problem was the street noise early in the mornings and the lack of wifi in the hotel (you have to pay for internet and use their PC)
