Firstly, sorry for this review being so late. Each time I tried to post it, something went wrong. We stayed here in May 2011 with two young children - 3 year old Lila and 8 year old Stella. They absolutely loved it - as did we. Very clean, great breakfasts on the roof and we had the freedom of the place to come and go as we pleased. Dania and Yosvany were great hosts and always made a real fuss of the kids. Charlie used to sleep on the kids bed - which they loved. We loved Havana so much, we cut short the beach part of our holiday to come back to Havana and although we couldn't get a room at Casa Dania, they did arrange with a friend to put us up in his Casa just across the road. We will definitely come back.

Jim and Elaine. We stayed in this lovely Casa Dania y yosvany in November 2011 for 4 nights lovely relaxed atmosphere and one of the cleanest places we've stayed in nice breakfast and very helpful people.

Pulling up outside the place in the taxi was a very jaw dropping moment. Not in a good way. My husband and I looked at each other with some panic in our eyes. The road isnt quite as nice as Obispo road which runs parallel. And yep the 3 flights of stairs are quite hard work.

But once inside, its a lovely aparment. And great hosts. And a lovely dog! Dania does not speak any English but Yosvany did. Perfect for us who do not speak fluent Spanish but wanted to try.

We stayed for 3 nights. Our bedroom had a small balcony, a double bed, a single bed and air con. The bathroom appeared brand new and was lovely. Although there wasnt a window, but a hole where one should be which was handy for a chat when my husband was on the balcony as we could chat through the hole!

Breakfast which is served on the roof was amazing. The best breakfasts we had in our 2 weeks there. Massive plate of fruit, bread rolls, juice, eggs and coffee.

As others have said the location is great. Just a short walk to the Capitolio one way and Old Havana the other.

The only reason we didnt give a full 5 is because our room had a whiff of petrol the whole time we were there and couldnt work out why. Maybe it was someones petrol heater? Who knows.

But overall, a massive thumbs up.

I won't repeat what others have said - only to confirm that this casa is just off the main shopping/music street in Havana vieja (Calle Obispo), which is a great location. The doorway looks pretty uninviting at street level but this in no way represents the apartment, The room was clean with air con, and the terrace was a lovely place for breakfast. Their dog, Charlie, was very friendly and didn't come into the room at all (he's a small sausage dog - there are lots of them in Cuba!) They were very responsive by email, which was reassuring to confirm the reservation, and very helpful in arranging a taxi to the Viazul terminal, and calling to the next casa. They spoke enough English to get by but a bit of Spanish would be helpful.
