“Would recommend Den Laman and Bonaire Dive and Adventure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

I am writing this from Den Laman, our last night in Bonaire. We have been here two weeks. The rooms are comfortable (except for the furniture in the LR; truly awful), the views from the ocean front rooms are gorgeous. The ocean view rooms have a better view of the parking lot, but if you lean waaay out you can see the water. Sort of. Another reviewer mentioned the office staff and the way the maids made the beds/ both comments are true. Sheets were not tucked in on top (too short) and we woke up on the mattress pad. Also the woman in the front office seemed very nice but rather demeaning, answering questions with sort of a "you should know this already" attitude. It got to the point where I would not interact with her, let my dive buddy (a man) work with her. Internet was intermittent; from the ocean front rooms extremely bad, from the rooms in the back of the hotel the connection was better, assuming they had it turned on.

We dove with Bonaire Dive and Adventure for the second year. I totally enjoyed the dive staff; they went out of their way to help me, to the point of carrying tanks and lifting my tank and BC out of the water so I could climb the ladder. Both years we got to the point of wanting to adopt them and take them home. On busy days the boat was very crowded, handled well but boat is too small for a group of 15 divers. We did mostly boat diving, also doing the Bari Reef in front of the dive shop a few times. Getting out of the water in a surge was hard; banged up my camera on the stairs; that could be made a lot easier with a little work.
The entire area, condos, and dive shop could use a lot of updating. The road into it was barely passable after a rainstorm left about 3 inches of water on the already broken up road. The women in the office of the dive shop were borderline surly; giving me a vacant stare if I asked for something, a huge contrast to the friendly and capable divemasters.
I rate this hotel and dive operation as far better than Buddy Dive.
One additional comment; we hired VIP divers to take us on a dive under Salt Pier. I highly recommend them.

“We had a great time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2010

This was our fourth trip to Bonaire and our first time staying with Den Laman. We usually stay at Sand Dollar next-door, but were looking for something a little less expensive. The Den Laman studios were very clean with modern appliances and decor. They provide nice big beach towels, and clean your room and freshen up your towels and linens everyday. It was so nice to come back to a clean room after a day of diving.

Unlike some of the other reviews, we have always enjoyed Bonaire Dive and Adventure, which is the dive shop connected with Den Laman and Sand Dollar. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There is always plenty of Nitrox and Air available and dunk tanks to rinse your gear. They also keep coolers filled with water around to keep people from getting dehydrated. If you're with someone who doesn't dive they offer kayaking, bike tours and more. Can't beat it.

We will definetly stay at Den Laman during our next visit to Bonaire!

“WONDERFUL STAY AND STAFF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

This is our 3rd trip to Bonaire and 2 time staying at Den Laman. Condo is very nice all modern w/stainless steel appliances full size refrigerator w/ ice maker our home away from home. Office staff Annamiena and Monique have always made our stay wonderful, very helpful and always asking if we needed anything to make our stay even better than what it was. The house reef Bari Reef is excellent no matter if we did morning-afternoon- night dives we always saw something different. Dive shop is adjacent to Den Laman, Bonaire Dive & Adventure staff is very informative and helpful. I would highly recommend this condo only 16 units - small and quite place

“Great place but avoid the bonaire dive and adventure”

We had a great time staying in Den Laman Condominium. Rooms were very nice and clean and the staff was very helpfull. No complains about Den Laman.

The only major drawback was that it seemed logic to use the services of Bonaire Dive and Adventures. Please don't. The briefing they give was okay, though a bit long, but after that we met they owner who doesn't seem to enjoy diving, customers or life in general and enjoys being as rude as possilbe to see how far he can go with customers.
He yeld as us for not knowing the exact size of our wetsuits and the weights we needed.
Since we are novice divers, we just were nog sure. That seemed enough to get him very mad at us.
We did one dive with this dive school and left for a Bonaire Dive Friends. Here people seem to enjoy diving and care about customers. Please do yourself a favor, do not dive with Bonarie Dive and Adventures.

“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

This is the third year in a row we've gone to Bonaire and stayed at Den Laman. We stayed in a 1-bedroom ocean front room again this year for 2 weeks and had an excellent stay. Our condo's kitchen was fully equipped and perfect for us to eat breakfasts and lunches in our room each day. The view from our condo of the ocean and Klein Bonaire was outstanding and very peaceful. Our condo was cleaned daily and service from the front office was spot on. Will definitely return.
