Belmar has been our home-base for SCUBA diving vacations in Bonaire for past 4 years. The location is ideal with quick access to south-island dive sites, as well as to Kralendijk and north. The condos are all ocean-facing with large verandahs and spacious living areas. (I think they range from 1 to 3 bedrooms.) We take a 1-bedroom condo on the second floor. The higher-up verandah and view make up for the need to walk up/down the curved and rather steep exterior stairs. Others may prefer ground floor condos with patios that open onto the pool deck.

Belmar has well run and well stocked dive shop on site. Belmar's staff is very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. They rent excellent quality equipment which appears to me to be new every year. The dive shop is affiliated with Buddy Dive and so has access to all Buddy's boats and resources. Belmar offers boat trips daily and special dives (Salt Pier, night dives, etc.) throughout the week. You can also make use of Buddy Dive's excellent facilities north of Kralendijk. (Buddy Reef is worth at least a couple dives; one to north and one to south.) You can also make use of Buddy's drive-through tank service.

Belmar's grounds are nicely landscaped with flowering trees and shrubs which are occupied by colorful bananaquits (small yellow & black birds.) The fresh water pool and its deck and seating area are very nice, right at water's edge. There are two large dive docks. Fresh water showers are right at top of dive docks. Tanks are located both on pool deck at the dive docks and out by the street next to the dive shop for easy car/truck pickup. There are also showers and rinse tanks out front near the dive shop.

Belmar rents (Buddy Dive's) nice 4-door pickup trucks as part of lodging packages.

This was our second trip to Bonaire. We had stayed at a different resort before and were not quite happy with it so decided to try the Belmar. It was great. We were on the bottom floor with incredibly easy access to the ocean and docks.

We shore dived the whole time so didn't have a lot of contact with the dive staff but the tanks and the overall operation appeared quite good.

The front staff in the office were very pleasant and helpful.

Condo was clean. Appliances up to date. Cleaning staff in every second day.

The new grocery store is great and is open 8:00-8:00 even on Sundays. Ask the staff for directions (and the name as I can't remember it).

We were met at the airport and delivered to the resort. Our unit was ready and Buchi the security guard let us into the room and gave us a quick tour of the condo. The office opened at 8:00. Our rental truck was delivered to us by 11:00. a.m. In addition a breakfast was in the fridge waiting for us which was greatly appreciated. The second bedroom had twin beds and when we asked for the beds to be put together for the second couple this was done by the early afternoon.

As it had rained quite a bit (which was unusual) there seemed to be a bumper crop of mosquitos and sand flies. Take lots of bug spray!

The view was increadible from the unit. Saw a pod of dolphins go by one day.

Diving is absolutely spectacular. Pristine coral and incredible numbers of fish.

Just returned from a week here with 15 other people on a dive vacation. The views were amazing and the diving off the dock was awesome. We found 2 octopus in less than 10 feet of water. The dive staff here was great! We stayed in apartment #11 and would go back!

We had a great time in Bonair. Accomodation at Belmar was excellent, very convenient for diving and relaxing. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our unit #3 on main floor was absolutely the best. Modern, with nice kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable beds .....and clean. Diving in Bonaire is outstanding. However, dining in Bonaire is pretty expensive in compare with other Caribbean destinations. We would definitely come back. Sooner...better.
