“Lion's OK with Me”

I want to write a positive review of Lion's after reading the two negative reviews on this site. I was part of a group from my local dive shop in July 2004. the lady at the reception desk on arrival was professional and courteous. The room my dive buddy and I got was more like an apartment, 2br 2ba for the two of us! I realize this was probably because of space available at the time. The rooms were clean, and kept so by the maid who came daily, even straigtening up in the kitchen and washing the dishes we left in the sink. The beds were perfectly made. The grounds are beautiful and kept in great condition. The pool was very nice and clear. The staff at the dive shop and at Lion's Den were friendly and attentive to our needs. The manager of Lion's Den was always fron and center and was a great person to have a conversation with, whether at dinner or sitting at the bar. This may have all changed with Buddy Dive's purchase of Lion's, and as I will be returning this July, I will reserve judgment until then.

“never to return”

We too were screwed around at Lions Dive. 2 days before we left on our trip they called and said they wanted to put us across the island at Loc Bay but since we are divers and not wind surfers we refused. They put us in Sand Dollar for a couple of nights then they told us we would have a 2/2 at Lions for us but when the agreed upon move time came they said the owners decided to stay and they would have to put us in a small 1/1 even though our reservations were for a 2/2. We insisted they move us to a 2/2 when one became available and so for the last 3 nights we finally had the room we were supposed to have (roomy with a nice view). We lost a lot of dive time because of that and had no reasonable compensation despite multiple contacts to management after our return to Texas. Lions gave us 1 shirt and a cheap bottle of champagne...very little class. We will not return to Lions and it unfortunately left us with a bad taste for Bonaire.

“great scuba”

I went to Coral regency during my honey moon, the apartment was brand new at the time with a nice kitchen overlooking a pool and the caribean.
We had much privacy and the service was ok, we rented a towner micro-van so we were able to go to sorobon for wind surfing and other interesting sites such as washington slagbaai park and the flamingoes. We would pack the van with scuba equipment and get to the diving spots one by one driving by the seashore drive. The water in Bonaire is as clear as it gets with plenty of marine life, we did some night diving as well.At night we would go to Kralendjik´s which is not really a busy nightlife although you can find some good restaurants. We had a good time and Coral Regency offered just what we needed. Bonaire with Coral regency is really a hassle free vacation.

“Diving okay, but....”

I cannot recommend the Lion's Den. We were first given a key to a room that someone was already occupying. Next, we were given a room and told that we would have to move in the morning. The next morning we moved to an acceptable room. Two days later, we were told that we had to leave this room because the people who owned that particular time-share had arrived. We were made to feel like we were the ones in the wrong. Our last room was awful. There was mildew in the shower, which they refused to do anything about. The whole place had an awful smell to it (they did give us some air freshener). The king size bed was two twin beds pushed together. The list goes on and on. They did give us a free meal for one night at their restaurant for our inconvenience. I felt the staff was very uncooperative and very rude. We had booked an ocean front room, on the second level. We ended up with a ground floor room next to the pool. At the desk, while checking out, I was told they would not be charging us for the upgrade that they had given us.
Needless tosay, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
