“Very giving staff, very clean, nice pool.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Carib Inn. All went very well. I felt that most who were on vacation there were return vacationers. At sunset each night. All seem to congregate by the ocean side to watch the sunset and laugh! The house cleaning staff was very happy and helpful. Our room was the smallest in the resort, but it was fine, although it didn't have a stovetop, but we knew that before we arrived. It was the only room left.
We didn't dive with the crew at Carib Inn, because we prefer someone in the boat when we are diving below, but we seem to be the only one with the problem. We did go on one dive with the group and all went very well. We also liked that it is close enough to town so we could walk to dinner and coffee.
I give it great praise. This is a well run, homey feeling establishment. I can see why most return year after year!

“Perfect for ocean lovers! Simply perfect.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Right on the ocean, just gear up and dive! Simple appartments are the best value in the carribean! Caters to serious divers, not party divers. Boat dives can be 90 minutes in length if the divers want to stay down that long. They treat divers like adults. Most visitors are repeat visitors! And become lifelong friends. We have been staying at Carib Inn for over 20 years now, it's like going to visit friends. Very little staff turnover, many have been working there since we first visited in 1991.

“Didn't lodge here, but TOP NOTCH dive operation!”

We lodged elsewhere, but booked our diving through Carib Inn based on our own pre-travel research.

Can't say enough nice things about them. They were attentive, safe, and their service was impeccable.

We hadn't been in the water diving for a number of years, so we booked a refresher course through the resort. Gary, our divemaster, and Melanie, a divemaster in training, were very thorough and attentive to our needs. We hadn't had to assemble our equipment in years, so their thoroughness with us gave us the confidence we needed to get back in the water, feel comfortable and enjoy diving again. They were very good in terms of focusing on our individual needs.

We did shore dives with them right out front (Calabas I & II), and also a boat dive to Bonaire Klein. Another couple we had met from our home state decided to join us on a couple dives -- they were also impressed with the dive shop and their operations (they mentioned Carib Inn was far superior than the dive op they had chosen through their condo rental at the Sand Dollar).

My husband and I "volunteered" for a quick pool training session with the divemaster in training as part of her certification requirements, and in turn they gave us a free tank rental, and guided shore dive. Both Gary and Melanie were a wealth of information, providing many tips to benefit our future dive excursions. We couldn't have been happier in our choice to book with them. We saw our first squid in formation on the Calabas reef, Tarpon, and Baraccuda.

Their pricing is not only competitive, but at the end of the week they will add up all your rentals and offer you the lowest package deal based on your overall usage.

A safe dive op is our number one priority (having had a bad experience in the past), so we were quite pleased in our choice to go with Gary (and Melanie) at Carib Inn.

“No place better than the Carib Inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

I've been to Bonaire 14 times and I've stayed at Carib Inn about half. Nothing compares to the staff here. Dive staff are friendly and helpful. We got our dive certifications here through rescue diver and all of the training was excellent.

The dive boats are small, holding about 12 people, and go out twice a day. You sign up on a chalk board for boat dives, so you have complete control whether you boat dive or not. And you only pay for what you dive. Bruce has us spoiled with his VERY reasonalby priced shore dive package. Makes it hard to go any where else in the Caribbean!

As to the cottages/rooms, all but one room has a full kitchen. The upstairs rooms have great views with a balcony overlooking the Caribbean, but they do get hot during the day, even with the airco on. Only problem we had in an upstairs room was a smoker was in the room next door and because the rooms are non-smoking he came out on the balcony to smoke at sunset every evening, JERK!

The maid staff has worked at Carib Inn for years and they are all very friendly, thorough and trustworthy. Although they provide daily service, we usually only get maid service a couple of times a week.

Bruce now has wi-fi by the pool which reaches to most rooms. The pool is a great place to hang out between dives. There's also a gazebo overlooking th ewater that is a great gathering place in the evenings. There's also a charcoal gril for guest use, but you may have to shoo away the iguana and lizards who like to munch on the meat stuck to the grill!

The only bad thing about the Carib Inn is that I'm not there now!.

“Diver's Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

The reason to go to Bonaire is to dive and the Carib Inn caters to a diver's every need. The hotel is not fancy but totally adequate as base to all the diving you care to do. The staff expect you to know what you are doing but are more than willing to help out if you ask. The pool has just be redone and is a great place to hang around and meet the other guests. The kitchenette is just right to do breakfast so that you can catch the early dive boat if you so desire. If you are not a diver there is not much to do there but there is not much to do on the island of Bonaire. I do not often travel to places I have already visited but if I go back to Bonaire I will try to get a room at the Carib Inn.
