“Fantastic beachfront hotel-we will be back!”

What a wonderful hotel. The key selling point are the large rooms with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea. We could happily have stayed here for a week but unfortunately stayed for only 4 nights. If you are looking for a beautiful spot right on the water, this is the place. Extremely relaxing. We would love to return.
Jerry, one of the Front Desk agents was outstanding and welcoming. Unfortunately, the other front desk staff did not rise to his level. This is why I did not give it 5 stars. The others were all polite but very reserved.

“Beautiful location, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The very good:
This hotel is located along a beautiful, sandy beach in Barbados's south coast. As other reviewers mentioned, all of the rooms face the ocean and a western exposure with gorgeous sunsets. The rooms are spacious, clean and have kitchenettes with refrigerator, microwave, electric stove, and 2-slice toaster. The room also has an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. The staff are very friendly.
The not-so-good:
The fixtures and appliances look like they have seen better days. There were cracked/stained tiles in the bathroom. The beds were covered in cheap, 100% polyester quilts, which in most places is not washed frequently (not sure how frequently here). The sheets, towels, mattresses and pillows are not of very good quality.
The awful:
Their internet. I happened to be in Barbados for business, and they charge B$ 30 for 8-hour cards of wireless internet access. The wireless is extremely slow and has a weak signal in the top floor, so you spend most of you internet time waiting for pages to load. I imagine that this is not such a big issue for the person coming for a holiday, but it was for me.

“Lovely sea/sunset views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We spent a week here in November.
The great thing about this place is that all rooms have lovely big sea facing balconies with sunloungers and table and chairs on, no having to upgrade from the car park facing room!. There is a full kitchen also which is pretty handy for breakfasts and snacks/sundowners and there are a couple of supermarkets within a short walk, so very handy. The rooms are a good size too, but I would have prefered a king size bed instead of 2 queens, as I'm sure most couples would.
If we go again I would choose the West coast for the calmers seas, but this was a nice chilled location, nice long walks along the beach in both directions and a short walk in to the Gap for dinner in the evenings, and because the hotel is fairly small all the guests seemed to get to know each other which was nice.
All in all very relaxing which is what we were after.

“Wonderful place to relax, enjoy the sea!”

We spent the first week of January at Coral Sands and it was wonderful. The views from the hotel rooms are simply like paradise. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are friendly.
South Gap is only 5 mins walk away, and you get to both Bridgetown and Oistns in 20 mins on a minibus.

The only downside was that the Internet prices are quite expensive, although in a pace like that, who needs Internet access :)

“Best of many worlds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Was here in Oct 2011, 2nd time in Barbados.

Chose it due to price and location, also due to other good reviews. Travelled on my own, am early 30s.

Pros easily outway the cons and it was definitely the right choice for my needs as someone who wanted to explore the island, have a beach on my doorstep and have the choice of a few local bars/restaurants nearby and enjoy the friendly staff. Here's the pros & cons anyway:

Pros
Right on a beach
Friendly staff
Room large enough for my needs, bathroom good size
Close to bars and restaurants (5 mins calm walk either left or right when exiting hotel)
Close to good large and good value supermarket (turn right, head along, turn left at next major junction, walk up, its the one on your left (i.e. not one you see when on the main road)
Had kitchen and cooking facilities (hob, oven, toaster, coffee machine, pots pans etc), large fridge
Bed was medium firmness, pillows just right as well
2 pools (small but good)
Attentive staff (bear in min this is Barbados, things move slow but mostly get done. Smiling and being genuine does really help, as it does everywhere i might add. They are people like you are, treat them nice and they will too. Logical and easy to do!)
Very close to local bus stop - buses for $2B (70p) take you all over the island, brilliant system
They have water sports stuff to lend you
Beach isn't at all crowded - hardly anyone on it ever! is also fairly secluded
Is in the main area of barbados for a bit of life if you want it. West coast doesn't offer that at all
Is 5 mins in the bus to Oistins
10 min walk to the Gap if you want what that offers
is 3-5 mins in bus (towards city) to carlyle bay, awesome beach, wrecks to snorkel around, loads of fish and turtles only 20 metres from the beach! Was there practically every day...

Cons
Breakfast sucks, order will always go wrong. Go out for breakfast or enjoy the game of "what will they mix up today?". The free continental breakfast = cup of coffee and slice of cake. Not worth the time.
Road nearby = noise of traffic. Mostly you can't hear it (almost not at all if in 1 bed appts) but some noise will creep through, especially any beeping. I was fine with it, was so tired at 9pm I fell asleep and didn't hear it, but if you try to listen for it then you will notice it.
Beach and sea - the drop-off is quick so is not at all suitable for kids less than 12 years, current is also noticeable, some rocks around but mostly its the fact that it isn't west-coast calm so you would dip in and out rather than spend ages floating in it. Snorkelling won't work - it isn't clear enough and is just a tad too choppy. But why pay for west coast hotel when you can take a bus there (20-30 mins) and go on any beach you want?
isn't a honeymoon destination, go west coast for that at minimum 3 times the price

Conclusion
Great. Would easily go again. Wins on price, location and nearby amenities.
