Stayed at the hotel for a second time.Once again the hotel and staff were very good.The rooms were very clean and reception staff very helpful.The restaurant on site run by Andy and Gail is excellent.The of the location of the Hotel on the Gap is great as you are close to everything.
If you choose to stay here you have to be prepared for the noise of music etc from the gap however this can be reduced by the noise of the sea or from your air con. However the music from Hal's Bar this year was very loud and continued until 4am on some mornings.There are regulations prohibiting this but the police seem to choose not to enforce these which is a shame.
However this will not stop me going back to the Hotel.I'll be back for more in 2013.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean facing and equally good.

“good hotel for its star rating. but...”

we went here for a few days after a cruise and hotel room was nice enough and the bar staff were great and we had the pool pretty much to ourselves for 4 days... receptions staff also really helpful.there is a casino/pool club thing there but have no idea how to get into it and im not sure i would want to as many unsavory characters there after it gets dark! large gaps under near the door about 2 inches! very strange! also if you want sleep dont stay here as the bars across the road karaoke bar etc goes ontil 3/4 in the morning and sometimes later and its is really really loud so if your not a party animal dont stay here or maybe ask for a room downstair facing sea they might be better for drowning out noise. i prob wouldnt go again but i would recommend to night owls

We have stayed in this hotel (FIRST TIME WAS IN 1986 AS ST. LAWRENCE EAST),for the past three years. The current staff, starting with CECILE, MANAGER & including all the reception personnel as well as housekeeping & maintenance staff, automatically make this a "A HOME AWAY FROM HOME"!
We had the pleasure of our daughter and husband joining us for Christmas and New Years -
THEY ALSO WILL BE BACK!
We have enjoyed the friendly/personal touch previously, but this past Jenuary while there
and having to go through the sorry of an unexpected death in the family back in Canada, the condolences & flowers offered was extremely heartwarming!
If your are not "YOUNG AT HEART" you may take issue with the volume of the music from the nearby nightlife, but the easy solution is to join in or use your ear plugs!
There are many restaurants/bars close by, but the fare offered by the poolside bar is second to none!

THIS IS TRULY A "GEM IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA"!

South Gap was a clean and lovely hotel. Annalee,Gail,Jordan,Sinorita,Rose & Zola all reception staff. Christopher & Avery they are what made the hotel for me.

There were a few issues which gets lost because staff are so pleasant..I will be back but I will be requesting ground floor because after a few drinks those stairs are not good and to hide the noise of the karoke.lol

“Great location & Hotel”

The staff in this hotel are so friendly and go out of their way for anything you need. They make you so welcome from the minute you get there until your departure.
The location is perfect for the nightlife at the gap with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from as well as the hotel serving lovely food.
The rooms are well equiped and have beautiful views of the ocean. The maids kept the rooms spotless as well as the rest of the hotel.
I would recomend this hotel to everyone even though it can be noisy at nights from the bars but this wasnt a problem for us.
This hotel will always be my first choice when i return to barbados which hopefully will be very soon,
