We have stayed in this hotel (FIRST TIME WAS IN 1986 AS ST. LAWRENCE EAST),for the past three years. The current staff, starting with CECILE, MANAGER & including all the reception personnel as well as housekeeping & maintenance staff, automatically make this a "A HOME AWAY FROM HOME"!
We had the pleasure of our daughter and husband joining us for Christmas and New Years -
THEY ALSO WILL BE BACK!
We have enjoyed the friendly/personal touch previously, but this past Jenuary while there
and having to go through the sorry of an unexpected death in the family back in Canada, the condolences & flowers offered was extremely heartwarming!
If your are not "YOUNG AT HEART" you may take issue with the volume of the music from the nearby nightlife, but the easy solution is to join in or use your ear plugs!
There are many restaurants/bars close by, but the fare offered by the poolside bar is second to none!

South Gap was a clean and lovely hotel. Annalee,Gail,Jordan,Sinorita,Rose & Zola all reception staff. Christopher & Avery they are what made the hotel for me.

There were a few issues which gets lost because staff are so pleasant..I will be back but I will be requesting ground floor because after a few drinks those stairs are not good and to hide the noise of the karoke.lol

The staff in this hotel are so friendly and go out of their way for anything you need. They make you so welcome from the minute you get there until your departure.
The location is perfect for the nightlife at the gap with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from as well as the hotel serving lovely food.
The rooms are well equiped and have beautiful views of the ocean. The maids kept the rooms spotless as well as the rest of the hotel.
I would recomend this hotel to everyone even though it can be noisy at nights from the bars but this wasnt a problem for us.
This hotel will always be my first choice when i return to barbados which hopefully will be very soon,

South Gap Hotel offers comfortable rooms with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea and ocean breezes. Located in the center of St. Lawrence Gap with bars and restaurants lining the quaint street. The friendly staff are ready to help meet your needs for a wonderful and relaxing stay. Our balcony overlooks the pool and the sea, offering views of both sun rise and sun set. The rooms are well equipped with fridge, micro wave, tv, tea pot, coffee pot, kitchenette and the makings for your morning cup of Joe. As mentioned, the noise from the bars can be a slight challenge, but requesting a room away from the corners will help as will having the bedroom on the sea side of the room - the sound of the sea overrides the sound of music! The warm welcome by the staff, makes you feel like one of the locals rather than a visitor. I am sure to book with South Gap Hotel on my next visit to Barbados! Reasonable rates make this an affordable and quaint place to stay. Thank you for helping to make my Caribbean Vacation perfect.
