“Gem of the Caribbean”

We have been to many Caribbean Island hotels{St Martin, French & Dutch,Anguilla,Bahamas,Jamaica and St Lucia] by far Little Arches Hotel out does them all.The Setting, the Rooms, but mostly the Staff. They never stop trying to make your stay a memorable one.Breakfast, lunch and dinner the food was excellent and the service very good. You could have your meals in your room,or lunch at pool side.Great beach with lots of it, even at high tide. Many beaches that we visited, looked great but disappeared as the tide came in. Also, shade trees if you needed to get out of the sun.Again, what makes this small boutique Hotel is its friendly, helpful and extraordinarily nice staff. We will definitely return to "Little Arches" on our next trip to Barbados.

“SECOND TIME AROUND AT THIS HOTEL WAS EVEN BETTER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed at the Little Arches Hotel in May, 2011 and of course it got great reviews after our visit. This time (Janyary 6th to the 14th) it was even better. The staff, of course, is the attraction to this resort. They make your stay so relaxing and delightful. My wife and I wish we could have stayed longer, however, there were no rooms available for an extended stay. The restaurant was of course, fantastic. The food was excellent and the service was great. Some people, I noticed, complained about the breakfast service. I thought the service was excellent in the morning. We never had to wait for anything. I must say, if the service was a little slow, you have to leave a few American dollars to motivate the service. IT WORKED FOR US ON BOTH TRIPS. If you are a traveler and have visited the islands, you know that tips are appreciated, I say no more. When we return to Barbados, we will be staying at the "Little Arches Hotel".

Room Tip: Room number 7 is best for pool side.

“We didn't want to leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

A lot of times after being away for a week on a trip we have had enough and are ready to go home. Not so with our week at Little Arches. We didn't want to leave. There are lots of nice places to travel to and stay in the Caribbean and we have been to many of them, but Little Arches stands out as one of the best. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and impeccably well maintained. The beach just across the street is a fabulous beach and the pool area at the hotel is just right for an afternoon dip or just relaxing with a cocktail watching the sunset. But the real charm of this hotel is the staff. We have not found anywhere a staff that is more willing to do just about anything you want to make your stay and vacation wonderful and memorable. It is clear while staying here that the business model is to make the guests happy, and the staff has been well trained to follow through on this goal. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, and would love to return their ourselves some day.
I agree with a lot of of the other reviewers with their assessment of the restaurant. It is definitely the weak link in this otherwise perfect place. They have obviously made an effort to improve the breakfast offerings by varying the menu a little, but the service was a bit spotty. On one occasion I waited 40 minutes for a bowl of fruit and yogurt and 2 poaches eggs. But hey, this is the Caribbean so these things can be expected. We had lunch here a couple of times and found the food to be good, but the portions a bit skimpy (especially the greek salad which was really tasty but tiny).
In summary... this place is just heavenly. Do not hesitate to book if you can get a room.

“Best.Hotel.Ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We couldn't have asked for a better Honeymoon Hotel. The staff was so helpful and genuinely nice. We lost our car keys on our first night and the staff went out of their way to help us find them (which we eventually did). The Wed. night cocktail hour for guests was fun- I usually don't enjoy forced socialization but I actually had a really good time hanging out with the other guests and hotel staff. Get a crate of banks beer and borrow a cooler from the front desk. When you are ready to go to the beach just give them a ring and they will carry your chairs and cooler down for you. Eat lunch @ Mr. Delicious (bus on the beach). Roti and Rum punch, you can't go wrong.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the 2nd floor- near the pool.

“sweet hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Like another reviewer, you really don't want to say anything bad about this hotel bc it is so so sweet and the staff are so overwhelmingly nice and helpful. But I don't know if it was the hotel for me per se.

I was there for a family wedding, we had about half a dozen of the rooms and kinda took over a bit!

My boyfriend and I were lucky and had one of the front rooms on the main floor with it's own balcony, our front door opened up to the pool (or plunging pool, it is quite small). The balcony is not private though as it faces the main street, entrance and to the side is the pool deck. Other rooms on the floor do not have balconies and literally opened up to the pool. Not much privacy. The bigger suites are more private (in the back) and have big rooms with hot tubs that connect to each other.

Like another reviewer, breakfast was overpriced and not that good. Dinner however was delicious. I ate there for the wedding as well as a previous night and was fully satisfied. We all enjoyed our meal. Cafe Luna at night is set up to be romantic.

The beach that is about a 5 minute walk was perfect. The hotel even arranges to have chairs brought out. Very lovely beach and safe.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from Oistins (for the Friday Night Fish fry) and about 30 minutes to Bridgetown. Nothing is near. Cabs will cost around $10 - 20 US

To note also, most of the hotels around there are all set on a street. They are not set back in a lush garden or on the beach. It is not a get away and seclusion.

All in all the hotel was very lovely, but I think I would have liked a bit more privacy.

Room Tip: you may have to pay extra, but ask for a room with your own balcony and not connected to the pool

Dear Randibeth,

For us, it was our pleasure to have you and your family stay at Little Arches for such a special occasion as the wedding! We all can not stop talking about how wonderful it was to have you all here and to embrace you as a part of our Little Arches family. On a personal note, it was great to place faces to the correspondence prior to your arrival.

We thank you for your kind comments but we are saddened that you did not feel as if the hotel might be the right choice for you. We know that we may not be “everyone’s cup of tea” and, unfortunately, this is a reality that all hotels face. At the same time, also we appreciate everyone’s perspective.

However, we feel the need to point out that we are the only hotel within a 2 mile radius. We are located in a non-commercial area so we are a little puzzled by your comment that “most of the hotels around there are all set on a street. They are not set back in a lush garden or on the beach. It is not a get away and seclusion.” as there are no hotels in the immediate area other than ourselves.

We are happy to be nestled a little bit off of the beaten path and would not like people to have the misperception that we are in an overly commercial area as might be accidentally construed from your comment. The walk to one of the best beaches on the island is only 1-2 minutes and we are within 5 minutes stroll to Oistins. It is a shame that you did not find it private enough as a 10 room hotel in such a quiet location but perhaps one of the rooms to the back of the hotel might have been a better fit.

We sincerely hope that you will return to Barbados and visit us. We would love to see you all again!
