“Fantastic hotel - this was our third visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

As this was our third visit to little arches we new what to expect and we certainly not disappointed. The attention to detail and fantastic staff are what really makes this hotel and it was great to see so many familiar faces. The hotel has 10 rooms all of which are of a really high standard but our favourite is on the pool deck. They are spacious and immaculately clean. Towels are provided for the beach and someone will carry beds across and collect . The beach is stunning with plenty of shade for those who require it. The food in the restaurant is superb to the point that you really don't need to go out but if you do there are some fantastic restaurants not too far away. Our favourite is Champers.

“Best hotel experience I've ever had”

Little Arches was absolutely fabulous. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. From offering us complimentary cocktails to making us restaurant reservations at the best local spots, the staff made us feel at home and at ease. We had an ocean view room next to the pool - it was spacious and luxurious without being over the top. The hotel was small enough to make it feel like it was our little secret, but still had all amenities of a larger hotel. The staff to guest ratio must have been 2:1 - we never wanted for anything for more than a minute! We absolutely loved it. Try the rum punch!

Room Tip: Every room is amazing, but the ocean view rooms don't have hot tub access, so you have to priori...

We stayed at Little Arches for a few days before going to Saint Vincent. The hotel is very nice. We had a luxury room with a plunge pool. Prior reviews were correct what makes this place so great are the kind ladies who run the hotel. They will bend over backwards to make sure you are enjoying yourself. The beach is beautiful and is less than a two minute walk. I found zero issues with the beach or the surrounding areas as noted in prior reviews. We walked to Oistins on Friday night and felt perfectly safe and were even directed by the locals.

Thank you Littel Arches for a great stay.

Room Tip: We booked a luxury room with a plunge pool. I did not see any of the other rooms so please keep thi...

It was an online recommendation from Conde Nast that persuaded me to book up this boutique hotel as the last leg on our Caribbean cruise out of Southahmpton....it was delightfully pretty, small and intimate with easy access to a nearby beach and good enough swimming and sunning for my needs for a few days..... BUt I was very much in need of some fine dining afer 2 weeks of cruise fodder and that was simply unavailable here...the small restaurant was open to the public, served from a fixed and limited menu and did not once offer the kind of uncomplicated fresh food that the island provided in such abundance...is it too mch to expect a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice in the Caribbean???
The hotel was expensive by US/UK?European standards, breakfast was not included and again limited to very basic, and unpleasantly cooked food.....Conde Nast where are you to compliment this plaace on its cuisine??.... Nearby Oistins offered an alternative if e weres prepared to go to local places which we were....again fried fish fried chips lots of both....eaten to the sound of the Caribbean steel drums?? not at all Frank Sinatra and local Karioki...and accompanied by the sound of cockroaches scuttling beteween the sauce botles...was that all, no every few yards were scatterd Caribbean blue cans of rat poison....not for me....having lived and travelled throughout the "developing world" for 4 decades, with considerable relish I say never again Little Arches Oistins andd Barbados

Room Tip: pool terrace only

Dear fhamiltonb,

We are so sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay in Barbados. In your review of Little Arches, there were some inaccuracies that we would like to clarify so that readers may not be misled.

For Barbados, our prices at the hotel and Café Luna are very reasonable and offer great value. Café Luna, the rooftop restaurant, is small and it is for that reason that it is only open to our hotel guests for breakfast and lunch. Café Luna opens to non-resident guests from 4:00pm with dinner starting at 6:00pm offering three menus (a la carte menu, “Back to Bajan” set menu and the Pasta set menu). On Thursdays and Fridays, there is also the option of the sushi menu and the Chef is also open to preparing dishes not on the menu if given enough notice. For the size of the hotel and the restaurant there are lots of choices. A point to note is that breakfast daily is also included in stays of seven nights or more at no additional charge.

Most of your review of Little Arches is based on the nearby Oistins which is not in any way affiliated with the hotel and is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Nevertheless, we feel that we must defend the home of one of the top things to do in Barbados - the “Oistins Fish Fry” on Friday nights. Although it is labeled a “Fish Fry”, there is an abundance of stalls serving some of the freshest fish grilled as you wait. Not all of the stalls serve chips (fries), some of them offer a taste of Barbados with some of our local dishes like peas and rice, macaroni pie, grilled breadfruit and sweet potato. Any baiting stations that you may have seen are not because of a rat infestation but to ensure that Oistins maintains its standards as Barbados’ Ministry Health have their officers patrol the area.

It is a pity that Barbados, Oistins and, indeed, Little Arches are places that you do not plan to visit again but we love the unpretentious charm of our island.

“Jaw Dropping Attention to Detail”

My wife and I were stunned by the attention to detail found at this hotel. We stayed there for three nights during our recent trip to the island. The rooms were excuisitely appointed and tastefully decorated. In room fridge, turn down service, very comfy bed, ceiling fan, AIR CONDITIONING, views from every window. We thoroughally enjoyed our stay and expect to return. We highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were in room #4 which was split level. We liked it a lot.
