I cannot say enough good things about Peach & Quiet and its gracious hosts, Margaret and Adrian and their friendly staff. My wife and I got into BGI late (on our first trip to Barbados), but that didn't stop Margaret from waiting up for us to briefly show us the property and our room. They also prepared sandwhiches for us. She was quite accommodating from the first encounter. The room in which we stayed was beautiful and spacious, just steps away from the rocky southern Barbados shoreline. We were wafted to sleep by the waves. Matresses are firm; showers only (in our room). It can get a little warm in the rooms during the summer time, but if you are sleeping closer to the window the ocean breeze helps. My wife, who was sleeping behind me (in relation to the window) had a harder time with the heat. Every day at breakfast, lunch, and dinner some of the best food we have had in the Caribbean was prepared. We actually ate all of the signature flying fish that they had on site. One night, a Bajan cultural show was put on for the guests, which included music and dancing (educational and a lot of fun)
.The hotel is close to the airport, but it is a drive if one wants to sight-see. Margaret recommended a good rental car agent, who gave us a great deal on a rental. Taxis are expensive. Without the car, we wouldn't have been able to affordably see St. Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown, all of the churches, sugar cane fields, beautiful countryside, and more.
If you enjoy the amenities of larger properties with room service, garden tubs, AC, etc. this is probably not the place for you. But if you like a affordable, beautiful, clean, friendly, peaceful and quiet retreat this is definitely a place to check out.
