“Quality”

I have been to a lot of resorts etc all around the world, i have seen many good and bad hotels.
Here is my first advice account and honest opinion.
We arrived at the bougainvillea beach resort on Sunday the 5th Feb 2012, we were checked in instantly and before we knew what was going on our bags were carried swiftly to our awaiting room by the porter who was a top man very helpful and informative, his name was michael. We then walked around the resort which i must say was impressive, so you could literally stay there and go nowhere else, which i suppose thats what you go on holiday for. Anyway there is a swim up bar which is lovely i stopped for a beer on the first evening and was served by the very lovely sonja, the bar was quiet and the night was balmy and hot. We had a lovely meal in the onsite italian restaurant, wished we would have had more meals there but there wasn't the time lol. We slept like babies that night and every night in the more than adequate bed. The next day i enquired about car hire at reception and was advised by a lovely pregnant lady could latina (good luck with your baby) she informed us about a car hire place called fat jacks which was a 5 min walk, the prices were very reasonable and we hired the car for 3 days and drove the west coast which was lovely and very impressive. Anyway back to the resort the 2nd night we had a meal in the feature restaurant which was called lanterns it was beautiful set right on the beach so romantic and the food was heavenly, the staff were attentive and on the ball in every way, so friendly and welcoming, we headed to the swim up bar for a night cap and met the also lovely Roxanne, funny, always smiling and singing :)
The 3rd day was greeted with lovely sunshine and warmth and that was just the staff. I could go on for ever, we met the very nice dennis who worked in the swim up bar, he worked all day one day and was flagging towards the end of the night lol but he soldiered on.
All i can say is we will be going back in April because it is that good and i have never returned to any resort so to do this i think says a lot. I have read reports on here saying that the food etc was expensive but to me i wouldn't be going to Barbados to scrimp and save you get more than you pay for very reasonable and very happy.
Sorry for any members of staff i've left out, you were all fantastic, theres so much more i can say but i would spoil it for all you all.
Regards

Thanks for the great review. We share all our reviews with staff members and your acknowledgement is really appreciated. The entire team strives to make your stay with us as close to perfect as possible and to exceed your expectations. From your comments we seem to have doone well. Look forward to welcoming you again in April. We have no way of testing this but I believe we have probably got the highest percentage of returning guests as far as hotels go, and thta speaks for itself. We rely on feedback to help us manage.

“nice place to stay in barbados”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

this place is good all around, the only thing is the restaurant that is over priced and not the best of quality. I told them about our dissapointment but nothing was done about it, so we ate out at different places that were nearby with very good results, but I wouldnt hesitate to stay there again. “Spectacular beach & hotel staff/service but property needs a face lift”

Pleased with our stay in October of 2011. Beach was secluded and beautiful. Overall was very relaxing, despite the locals who interrupted you while reading a book or sleeping to try and sell you something. Evening entertainment was enjoyable and surprisingly talented. Staff was overly friendly and went the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. The property was a bit dated and the beds were very uncomfortable. The room was tidied up daily, but sand and hair was still left on the tile floors. Our shower was also clogged one morning, but the staff sent someone right away to fix it. However, after the drain had been blown out, we had to then call the front desk to have someone clean the bathroom (it was pretty gross). Food was ok, but apparently they had just hired a new restaurant manager so that should be improving.

Room Tip: Get a room in the newer section, by the pool; those are renovated.

“Bougainvillea - Brilliant!”

Well were to start? First timers to Barbados so had to use Tripadvisor as our reccomendation, and you were all so right! This hotel is fantastic and it is exactly as it looks on the website.
Coming from the hospitality industry, I am somewhat of a 'picker' but I can not find anything negative to say about this hotel.
From the cleanliness of the resort to the friendly staff, the fabulous guest rooms, great amenities, excellent resturants and a beach to die for, it was all perfect.
The location is just right, with the constant cooling breeze and the fun waves. We didnt need the A/C at all just kept the patio doors open and slept like babies listening to the ocean waves.
The island is safe, the people are so nice and friendly, we travelled everywhere by bus, it was so easy, the Reggae buses are always around and $1 US to travel anywhere.
Highlight of the trip was a cruise on the Tiami Cattamaran swimming with Sea Turtles, a remarkable experience.
This was our first of many more trips to Barbados and to the Bougainvillea, I would totally reccomend this resort to couples or families, it is set up for both.
Thank you for an amazing experience and to your wonderful staff.

Room Tip: We had a Deluxe one bed, it was perfect and very spacious. Great bed/matress. Asked for the top flo...

“A gem of a resort on a jewel of an island!”

Barbados is a wonderful island and the Bougainvillea Resort is a beautiful place to stay. The resort staff are delightful, from the bellman to the bartender...everyone is friendly. The units are clean, spacious and all have gorgeous views of the beach. The constant breeze, wonderful wave action on Maxwell Beach and great pools, make it an easy place to rest, relax and play. The resort has plenty of amenities, easy access to the fine dining in the St. Lawrence Gap, to Oistins for the Friday night fish fry and the shopping in Bridgetown. It's only a short cab ride to the west coast beaches and Holetown. Barbados is a friendly island with lots of great scenery and activities to entertain all ages and tastes. We would return again and again to the Bougainvillea...already been twice and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Room Tip: We were in the Sand Acres side of the resort and had room 3232, which is on the second floor, at the...
