“tired hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Just returned last week from a weeks stay following a cruise. The hotel is very tired and run down. The rooms were clean but the shower was hit and miss. All inclusive hotels would normally welcome wine drinkers as it is a cheap and cheerful drink but there is no wine available unless its 1 glass with evening meal. The staff were not friendly at all.I had to go and ask for replacement cups, cutlery plates etc on numerous occasions. After a rain shower 1 evening the management made no effort to go around and dry off chairs around the bar area.I asked one of the managers if this could be done but he just went and asked the barman to wipe the chairs leaving nobody serving at the bar.Very sloppy service on most levels. The food to be fair was really good tho.It would be really easy to spruce this hotel up without it costing a fortune. As a previous reviewer has said,a panel of the balcony overlooking the sea had been replaced with an old shower tray complete with plughole. We did find this amusing cos who would think of using it in the 1st place? I would not book this hotel again but made the most of it anyway.

Room Tip: 612 had a lovely view

“Disappointed holidaymakers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Having just had a fantastic week on Thompson Dream Cruise we were shocked by this all inclusive hotel, definitely not more than 2 star. The location was amazing.right on the beach. The bedrooms were spacious but needed a little updating. The food was our main complaint, very little fruit and poor variety of vegetables offered, very set meal times and nothing available out of these meal times, more like a transport cafe. no yoghurts or puddings only bought in cakes. Only coffee in restaurants, and only wine when eating meals, this is not all inclusive. Some of our complaints were sorted out but others had been ignored every week. We were all surprised that this hotel was in the Thompson and Virgin holidays. We would not go there again.

Room Tip: side rooms face burned out restaurant.

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Having read the reviews before flying out to barbados I was abit concerned about what to expect. On arriving at the hotel we were meet by the thompson rep and within 15 mins we were in our room which was clean. The location off the hotel is fine right on a very nice beach with no shortage of sun beds for the whole week. The food at the hotel was what you would expect from a 3 star hotel and plenty of it.Overall for the week we stayed there we had no problems at all even had hot water everyday for a shower and the staff all friendly. We did several trips round the island and 2 tours stood out, first the island tour with Teds Tours he is a one of a kind keeping the whole party entertained allday with jokes and history of the island.Second the boat trip with captain ron on his boat the wasnt me.There was 17 of us onboard he will never have more than 25 at anytime so everybody has room to move about. So to finish if you are expecting more from a 3 star hotel then you need to book and spend more money on a 4/5 star hotel as this is a basic 3 star nothing more .

“Don't stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We were put in this hotel on an all inclusive deal following a cruise. We complained after half hour, this is DEFINATELY not a 3 star, it struggles to be one star. The staff are rude, the hotel is more like a hostel, there are no decent facilities, we couldn't get wine at lunch time with all inclusive, you can only get that at dinner, which is by the glass and only at "Sea Rocks Restaurant" which is a temporary room as the original had burnt down (which we were not told about) before our holiday. There is one bar at the pool side which is disgustingly dirty, our first beer was handed to us with bird excrement down the bottle, Photos will be loaded as proof when we get back home but this should never be on Thomson or Virgin's books as a hotel as part of an all inclusive package! VERY disappointed and after one night stay (as we had no choice) we moved at our own expense, to the Southern Palms Hotel just up the road which is a 4 star (NOT all inclusive) but very good - staff brilliant, hotel clean and tidy and good facilities, fantastic beach - cannot fault it so far! So, finally - DO NOT STAY AT THE BARBADOS BEACH CLUB!!!

Dear readers,

This reviewer has expressed their opinion, I would suggest that all those who are looking for a good value for money all inclusive to do your research and make your own decision. We have a large clientele who love Barbados Beach Club and have been coming here for years. There are also those who are looking for something more and choose to find fault at every turn such as describing a beautifully laid up 4,000 square foot restaurant as a room. If a guest is not happy at a hotel and goes to another hotel where they are happy, enjoy it and the time in Barbados. Why look back and try to stop people from booking a hotel that may perfectly fit their needs and budget?

“The Best Of Barbados”

There are probably many hotels that boast of 5 star and would probably deliver, but at this hotel, you get more than what you pay for. I was there for 5 days, for a cricket competition, so only breakfast and lunch at hotel, but the chef extraordinaire Maylene packed our dinner each night and it was sumptious and more than adequate complete with dessert and drinks. The foos otherwise at the hotel was fabulous, service to the max, and the location on the beach could not be matched. It was just fantastic to wake up to the view from my room. Very spacious and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a fantastic vacation, and there is even a mini-mart at the hotel. Too good to be true, but very very true.

Room Tip: Not sure why but I was given a kitchnette without asking for same price as single. Better to have a...
