“Best wedding, ever!”

My girlfriend and I wanted to get married somewhere with "palms and beaches” and decided on Barbados where we stayed at Yellow Bird for two weeks. We learned that “Studio” means “Twice as big as any hotel room we’ve ever stayed at in Europe” and “Possible noise from St. Lawrence Gap” means “relaxing sound of waves” from the ocean and beach which was the beautiful view from our balcony. Also, the kitchenette was actually more like an actual kitchen but our best memory is the great staff! Dee and Audrey, the manager and assistant manager, witnessed our wedding on a nearby beach - they insisted :), and Monique at the desk made a special arrangement with her friend for photos (so together with Dee, we had two great photographers at our wedding :) ). They and the rest of the crew made this the vacation and wedding of our dreams.
We're absolutely sure that our little son thinks the same, and even though he doesn't quite speak yet we think we heard him say that he missed “Aunt Audrey” in Bajan when we got home.
As much as we recommend Barbados we recommend Yellow Bird.

We only stayed for a single night at each end of a 2 week trip to the Grenadines and it was the perfect stop-over but wished we'd stayed for longer.
The surrounding area's lively but background noise is a gentle hum at night.
The staff are brilliant - all of them! Amazingly friendly but not at the expense of professionalism.
Even if you're just staying nearby, head over for pancakes or french toast for breakfast - you won't regret it ;)

“Unforgettable”

My wife and I stayed at yellow bird in the last week of January 2012 and we couldn't have been more satisfied. At first we were worried because looking at weather reports online it was showing rain everyday yet don't let it fool you. The weather was perfect for the whole trip, 85f + everyday, sunny, a little breeze occasionally which made the heat bearable.

Upon arriving at the hotel from the airport, (only a 15 min drive) we were greeted warmly by Audrey, the assistant manager and Monique, one of the receptionist. our room was on the 4th floor with a ocean view. The room had 2 full size beds, a beautiful balcony, complete kitchen with dishware/cookware/silverware-anything you need to cook. The room was extremely clean and the a/c worked like magic if it got to hot outside.

The hotel has a Greek restaurant on the ground floor which is amazing. The food is delicious like most of the food you'll find on the island and the level of service is as efficient as what were used to being from the states. The owner Dimitri and all his wait staff are just as friendly and helpful as the hotel staff when it comes to helping you choose places to go out or of interest. Right of the bat, they were an immense help in answering any of our questions we had about the island, beaches, cuisine, nightlife.

Overall between the wonderful hotel staff and restaurant staff, the friendliness of the locals, and the beauty of the island, we had a amazing time and can't wait to go back.

Thank you Audrey, Monica, Michelle, Sherry and from Opa- Dimitri, Astra, Jenny, and the rest of the girls. Cane wait till next time and much thanks!

“Ideal Location for the Gap”

I have just returrned from a 10 day stay at The Yellow Bird. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, especially Monique on reception and Dale (think that's his name) the maintenance guy. Demitri and the girls behind the bar were mostly helpful and frendly too.

The Yellow Bird is a bit tired and dated but the view and position on the Gap more than make up for this. Sadly the pool ws still out of action until the day we left, but we were compensated for this by a complimentary breakfast every day, which was fair. Especially as the beaches were so close by.

I was my birthday on our last day and the staff put balloons on our table and gave me a little gift which was a lovely touch.

All in all the Yellow Bird was value for money and suited our needs. I am already missing the view. If I had to make any critisism it would be that breakfast could be slow, but then again who wants to rush in the Caribbean.

I have stayed here a few times on business and it is a very nice hotel. Perfectly placed for nightlife or a short taxi to the port area. Nice rooms, pool, pool side bar and great food available. It really is the perfect location.
