“Serenity by the Sea!”

If you are looking for the Hilton or some other over-priced resort that offers you their version of paradise in a sanitized and expensive package, then don't go to Surfer's Point. If you are looking for serentiy, beauty, the crash of the surf putting you to sleep each night and some of the most down to earth and gracious hosts, then do go. This small hotel is a gem. The property is beautiful, located on a cove off surfers point with good swimming, surfing and the center of kite surfing action a couple of blocks away. It's a quiet area so you will need a rental car to get to the restaurants and night life or just hop a bus, which are numerous.
The highlight of my trip, (and my wife's) was seeing my wife surf for the first time after 1 lesson with Zed's well - qualified instructors. They did an awesome job. That and being able to share in our host's culture and freindship which they were very gracious with. I have already made plans to return with the rest of my family!

“Fun surf, warm people, tasty food ... and a little too much rum.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

Having traveled a good deal throughout surf-soaked countries, trekking to Zed's from the airport felt warmly familiar: smiling faces, vibrant music and the anticipation of what lies ahead. When we pulled into the Surfer's Point Guest House, I knew we'd made the right decision.

The property is situated on the beach featuring a fun left-hand wave. While we were there, the swell wasn't too big, which worked well for my girlfriend, a novice surfer with a penchant for the mellow.

The selection of boards for rent was fantastic for all skill levels. And everyone there, as well as other guests, couldn't have been nicer. One day during our stay, since there was construction taking place, Zed even rented a catamarran for his guests. What an adventure: snorkeling on shipwrecks and with turtles!

Since we had a kitchen, we picked up groceries at Buffy's bar a short walk up the road. The grocery selection is limited, but the bar itself sells Barbadian beer, Banks, for just $1.50 Barbadian ($.75 US). A few days, we ventured into Oistins, the nearest larger town, to check out the renowned fish fry. A really great time, if you appreciate good music, great food and friendly locals. In fact, Barbadians were the friendliest we've encountered on any of our travels. And the rum, a native favorite, is incredibly reasonably priced - which may lead to a few wild nights. You've been warned!

Overall, a wonderful time, thanks to loads of wonderful people, warm water and great food. Thanks, Zed and the entire crew!

“A wonderful vacation experience”

We just returned from an 8 night stay at Surfers Point - a fantastic experience!! Zed and Claudia are gracious hosts - warm and welcoming and always willing to answer questions and give advice on things to do and see in Barbados. The rooms at Surfers Point are all very comfortable and decorated with unique, local touches. We stayed in Driftwood and loved the outdoor living space and shower. The view from our front porch was beautiful and listening to the sound of the waves every night was peaceful and relaxing. The feeling at Surfers point is relaxed and inviting - you can have as much privacy as you want or can easily make friends with the other guests.
We went to Barbados to surf and kite and had a great time doing both! Zed has a large selection of surfboards for all different levels of ability and types of surf on the island. Zed, Jason, and Junior were very helpful and knowledgeable about local surf and kiting conditions and loved to share their knowledge with the guests. Thank you for all of your advice!
Our whole experience at Surfers Point was wonderful and we can't wait to come back!

Our trip to Surfer's Point was excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the scenery is beautiful. Zed, Claudia and the rest of the staff are very friendly. Whether it was giving us directions or setting up a catamaran ride, they were very helpful. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy. Surfer's point is a great place for any level of surfer. There are lessons for beginners and tours for the more advanced. We had a great time in Barbados and will definitely be going back. We can't think of any place better to stay than Surfer's Point.
