Hi my wife and i have just had two of the most relaxing days of are life's .It was our wedding anniversary and this hotel is just right the rooms are great the food is good and the staff are so helpful any thing we need we just had to ask it was no problem and its one of the nicest hotel that we have stayed in only 24 rooms so no large groups of people and plenty of room to just lay back and chill out

“Fantastic little hotel”

Myself and partner stayed at the Island Inn for 2 weeks in January 2012. Its got to be one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. I liked the hotel because it only has 24 rooms. It was in a great location, next to a stunning beach which was never busy. The food at the hotel was amazing and i'm normally very differcult to please when it comes to hotel food. The staff were incredible. Nothing was to much trouble. If you want lots of night life and busy bars then this place is not for you. I would stay at this hotel anytime. Even the manager joined in with the guests and often sat with us in the evenings. Lovely touches.

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good as each other.

Just returned from a delightful week at the Island Inn. We were returning to Barbados following a 10 year gap. On our previous visit we stayed at the sister Hotel Mango Bay on the West Coast.
In our opinion Island Inn is a little gem. With only 24 rooms you definitely sense the personal touch as soon as you enter the property. It is very easy to mingle and make friends or indeed remain anonymous should you wish to do so. We had just arrived dumped our cases and were invited to join a group of people many of whom were repeat guests for a chat over a rum punch. (Thank you Steve it was much appreciated)
We had a Courtyard room which was always clean had every accessory you would require including free room safe and the quietest air con unit we have ever experienced.
Food quality was of a high standard and was always elegantly prepared.
We took advantage of the free trip to Mango Bay to look around and have lunch. Mango Bay is certainly larger and grander with a more varied menu choice however it is so much busier. We were disappointed with the beach at Mango Bay. Like most beaches along the West Coast, erosion has sadly taken it's toll with only a thin strip remaining.
Island Inn while not beach side is literally a 1 minute walk from the lovely Pebble Beach or a further 2 or 3 minutes to beautiful Carlisle Bay.
Take a walk to Pebble Beach between 6 and 7am and you will see the stable lads taking the racehorses for a daily swim in the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Just before you walk onto Pebble Beach is the legendary Cuz's food shack. You just have to try a fish cutter. (yum yum)
The Managers Cocktail Party was an evening that will live with us forever. Keep dancing "da plunge" Miss Brown.
We gave ourselves a treat and visited The Cliff restaurant for Dinner on evening. One word.....Heavenly!
Would we return you may ask? Answer...........we have rebooked 12 nights in August!
A final thank you to all the lovely staff at Island Inn and the guests we befriended who made our week in paradise simply perfect.

“Returning Home!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Have just returned from our 4th visit to the Island Inn. It is still the smallest hotel with the biggest heart we have ever stayed in. The staff are just wonderful, they welcomed us back with big hugs and the biggest smiles. We stayed in a superior garden view room in the southern block which was just a few steps away from the pool. The level of housekeeping is exceptional. Clean towels every day, and very high standards of cleaning.

There is a new Chef since our last visit, and she is brilliant. The presentation and quality of the food has improved, as has the choices for the buffet meals.

Yes, there is a slight problem with rain getting into the new sections of the dining area, but we had some very impressive downpours, and yes, you couldn't sit there, obviously, but other tables where always available. The management are very aware of this problem and are trying very hard to get it resolved.

The hotel was relatively full this visit which was good fun and there was always a great crowd in the courtyard of an evening. There was also alot of repeat guests there together with 1st timers, the majority of which were planning to come back again. We even met up with a couple from last year which was lovely.

The Island Inn gives you the perfect holiday if you want total relaxation, in beautiful surroundings with the most attentive staff you could ever wish to meet. We are already looking forward to next year!!!

Room Tip: Rooms in the southern block

“Still a work in progress”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Last year I indicated the renovations were a "work in progress" - unfortunately that is still the case. Many of the changes made in 2009/10 are already beginning to show wear and tear, particularly in the new bar area. Additionally, when it rains - and it does rain in Barbados - the new dining areas are swamped due to poor drainage in the gutter system surrounding these areas so that the furniture and floors are drenched.

But all is not lost - the terrific friendly and helpful staff at Island Inn are what draws me back annually, and the addition of a new chef (Vanessa) is superb and I enjoyed the best meals I have ever had during my recent three week stay. Everyone at Island Inn from receptionists to barmen to wait-staff are all more than willing to accommodate your slightest request - all with a smile and "no problem".

Island Inn is the perfect place to relax, chill and enjoy conversations with your fellow guests. It is not a place for young children for most guests are middle-age and above. If you want glitz, glamour, noise and regimentation go to Mango Bay, but if you want simple relaxation to enjoy the quiet and peaceful surroundings, then the Island Inn is the place to go.
