We stayed on the Gold Floor over Christmas. What a luxurious experience! The people at the concierge desk, Peter, Melanie, Robin and Joseph, were extremely helpful and patient. We had free breakfast every day, which is a delicious buffet with eggs, pancakes or waffles, muffins, pastries, hot cereal, cold cereal, fresh fruits and berries, bagels, smoked salmon and on and on! Also free afternoon tea with scones, etc, free canapes at the cocktail hour, and free dessert in the evening. Our special waiters, Kim and Rolly, were attentive. All knew us by name and greeted us. Free wi-fi, free shuttle service to the beach or the free water ferry to town. The New York Times digest was free and ready to read with breakfast. All in all, could not have been better!

This was a vacation to remember. The hotel was so luxurious. The rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel was beautiful. Grounds and pool were fabulous. The staff was friendly and attentive. Housekeeping a was over the top. Fresh towels twicea day! The shuttle to the beach was very convenient. Since taxis were a must to get around, the shuttle was a real plus. The island is so clean and pretty. The beaches were gorgeous. The hotel was very accommodating. We had to leave early due to a family emergency and the hotel refunded the last two days. This was an expensive vacation, but worth every penny.

We have been visiting this property for the last 3 years and have yet to be disappointed in any way. The property is located in a great location near a (private) beach and access to most beautiful beaches in Bermuda. There is also a fantastic executive golf course on the property that is well maintained and a blast to play. The spa is also very good - a bit on the pricey side for the services but you are in a resort and in Bermuda.
The guest rooms are roomy and extremely well appointed. The views are great on either the harbor or ocean side. I would recommend you don't stay above "The Cellar" nightclub on the ocean side on a weekend if you can avoid it. It can get a bit noisy with party people coming and going from the club.
We always stay on the Fairmont Gold Club level and the service is OUTSTANDING. The staff there is wonderful and they take great care of us and even remember us each year (or at least they do a great job of pretending to remember us)! Even off the 6th floor (Gold level) the service is remarkable. The doormen, the restaurants, the spa and the golf course.
The Waterlot restaurant is our absolute favorite restaurant in the world and we dine there every trip - treat yourself!
We spend every Christmas at the resort and consider it our gift to ourselves and each other....haven't found a better way to celebrate yet.

$3.50 for morning coffee in the lobby, No paper, $14/day WI-FI, $29 breakfast, etc etc all this on top of very expensive daily rates add up to a poor value.

That said I loved the friendly staff and the food served in the very expensive hotel restaurants was first rate. I understand that Bermuda is an island and that supplies have to come in via boat etc etc. But having spent many an island vacation I have never felt nickled and dimed and up-charged as much as I did on this Christmas visit to Bermuda. I definitely felt like the "rich" mark.

We will be back but next time will stay at a rental condo etc. If you want to go back in time to hotel stays of1960s, when getting a xeroxed summary of yesterday's New York Times slipped under your door from time to time was a great thrill, every service is charged and money is no concern then this Hotel is for you.

Final word of warning - there are IDENTICAL shuttle buses run by the Hotel to different destinations - the tennis courts/beach and the wharf. These are not marked and the drivers seem put out when asked where they are going - you should know by how far forward they pull up in front of the hotel.... We rode with a few quests who ended up in the wrong place.. Signs would be nice though might be too modern a touch for an establishment with both feet planted firmly in the past.
