“Good for business travellers or people on a budget”

The Wharf Executive Suites is a small hotel, with possibly 15 suites total. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value on the island. No, it's not on the beach. It is on the opposite side of the harbor, facing Hamilton. Immediately next door to the hotel is the Darrell's Wharf ferry dock, which can take you to Hamilton for $2.50. Tokens are available at the Wharf Executive Suites.

The hotel has a small staff, but they are incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped me out quite a bit, considering that it was my first trip to Bermuda.

Every room faces the harbor. The best rooms are on the second floor because they have an even better view. The room had a balcony, where you can sit and relax. The room has cable television, free wireless, a couch with a pull-out bed, a chair with an ottoman. a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, a toaster, cups, dishes, silverware, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. My room also had a fax/printer/copier, although I did not use it. There is no fitness center or pool. It is less than two miles from Elbow beach and roughly three and a half miles from Horseshoe Bay beach. You can take the ferry to Hamilton

If your intention is to visit Bermuda as a tourist and you want to stay someplace breathtaking, this hotel is probably not for you. If you are visiting Bermuda on business or if you are vacationing on a budget, I highly recommend the Wharf Executive Suites.

Take the ferry to Hamilton and go to the Hog Penny on Burnaby. Make sure to order a Dark & Stormy.

“What a dump. "executive" a complete misnomer.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

It was just something about the smell of the room at first. It was missing that clean, crisp smell you get from fresh and newly cleaned bed linens. Smelled like the beds hadn't been changed in weeks. Only one power outlet in room, and when I leaned on the table to plug in something, I almost fell and headbutted the patio door. The table top was completely loose and just balancing on its pedestal so it tilted 45 degrees when I put my weight on 1 side. Couple of cockroaches on the wall by the bed. Went to make myself a late night coffee and found several-day-old mouldy coffee filter in the filter basket, almost with more hair on it than I have on my head. The coffee maker was removed as soon as I reported it to the front desk. Needless to say, we moved hotels the next day, which was an excellent decision.

“Decent hotel, but not near beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

While this is a decent hotel, it certainly is not "near a beach" as advised on some other travel sites - a trip to the beach is a good hour walking or 10 minutes by taxi ($14).
The partnership that this hotel had with a sister property with beach access is no longer in effect. Therefore if you want to go to the beach, head for a public one. This is not an issue as Bermuda beaches are really lovely, and even the public ones, on Labor Day week-end, were far from crowded.
The hotel does provide beach towels, though, so you do not have to pack any.
The staff is really nice and will go the extra mile to welcome you and make your stay the most confortable possible. The lady at the desk even went ahead and changed us to a new room, knowing that our neighbours might be cooking. The staff will even let you have breakfast until 11.30 in the morning if you sleep late !
All rooms have a balcony with nice views of the harbour and are very quiet. The room we had was furnished with a double bed (could have been wider but ok) and had a kitchenette. It was quiet and confortable. There is free wifi in the hotel and all rooms are equipped with a fax machine as well.
This being said I would recommend this hotel to someone travelling for business, or travelers who want to go to bermuda for a lesser price than a huge resort, but be prepared to use taxis and public transportation to get your way around.
Not recommended for families, not romantic.

“"ANOTHER WORLD"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

Pat was a fantastic and gracious hostess while my wife and friends stayed here. She made our stay absolutely worth coming back to The Wharf in the future, which will be in the very near future, and I hope she is still there. She shared much of her personal life with us, as if we were part of her family. Told us the places to eat/drink, by all, The Swizzle Inn and The Hog Penny was "GREAT", and can't wait to visit them again. She even went out of her way on acquiring something personal for us. The room and view was "breath taking" to say the least. I could have sat right there on the deck all day and just been content with my surroundings. I was born here in 1958 and left when I was an infant and grew up in the States, and hadn’t been back since. I wanted to visit and just see this great place I was born at, and Pat I want to thank-you from the bottom of my Heart, in making not only myself feeling like I was a "Bermudian" and welcoming me home, but also my wife and friends.
Look forward to seeing you again in the future, soon.

“Overall very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2010

The room (205) was spacious and clean, with a large sliding glass door and windows to let in a lot of light. The balcony was over the bay, with a view of boats, small islands, and the town of Hamilton. The staff was very helpful, and the ferry wharf ($2.50 each way to Hamilton) was alongside the hotel. The price of the room was significantly less than most other equal level hotels on the island because it is not in Hamilton, but the ferry ride only took about 7 minutes, and was very easy to deal with.

The only drawbacks were that there was no close convenience store, and no vending machines in the hotel. To get drinks, we had to taxi to a store for around $8. Also, the bed in our suite was a double which is a little small for our taste, but it was comfortable otherwise.
