“Will return in 2012”

I visited Paget in 1967 and hadn't thought of returning due to the perceived high cost. Well . . I decided to bite the bullet and returned in April 2011 and stayed for 7 nights at the Wharf Executive Suites. I do not agree with the negative reviews I see. First, I paid a lot less that other quoted rates at other local hotels and certainly a lot less than at the Princess. When I arrived, I was greeted by name by Patricia on the front desk and all the paperwork was ready. I found her to be very helpfull and provided many suggestions and a lot of advice. I was so pleased I'm planning return.
No. . . it's not a 5 star hotel but I would recommend you consider it. It's excellent value for Bermuda.

“Awful worst hotel in Bermuda”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2011

Really shocked at how dreadful this place is. From the filthy stained furniture to the dirty carpet in the hallway its a slovenly disgrace, no one cares. The woman who checked us in could have run a hoover over the carpet in the awful hallway, (I think there's only one person on duty in this place which is all it needs as its very quiet, there are no services, a coffee machine for breakfast oh and a couple of bagels but you have to move fast or they're gone). The drapes were torn and dirty and yes, there was a cockroach in the kitchen! the bathroom has one light which means you shower in darkness, and the soap looks like it must have come out of a damp cardboard box circa 1980. The Suites claim to be a business man's hotel, but from what era? I stay in plenty of business hotels and this was far and away the worst. The only saving grace is the view from the balcony. If you are in travelling with business in Hamilton stay at the Princess (same price) or the Rosedon, even Oxford House (small B&B - both cheaper) all are walking distance to the commercial areas of hamilton.

“Good for business travellers or people on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2011

The Wharf Executive Suites is a small hotel, with possibly 15 suites total. However, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value on the island. No, it's not on the beach. It is on the opposite side of the harbor, facing Hamilton. Immediately next door to the hotel is the Darrell's Wharf ferry dock, which can take you to Hamilton for $2.50. Tokens are available at the Wharf Executive Suites.

The hotel has a small staff, but they are incredibly friendly and helpful. They helped me out quite a bit, considering that it was my first trip to Bermuda.

Every room faces the harbor. The best rooms are on the second floor because they have an even better view. The room had a balcony, where you can sit and relax. The room has cable television, free wireless, a couch with a pull-out bed, a chair with an ottoman. a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, a toaster, cups, dishes, silverware, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. My room also had a fax/printer/copier, although I did not use it. There is no fitness center or pool. It is less than two miles from Elbow beach and roughly three and a half miles from Horseshoe Bay beach. You can take the ferry to Hamilton

If your intention is to visit Bermuda as a tourist and you want to stay someplace breathtaking, this hotel is probably not for you. If you are visiting Bermuda on business or if you are vacationing on a budget, I highly recommend the Wharf Executive Suites.

Take the ferry to Hamilton and go to the Hog Penny on Burnaby. Make sure to order a Dark & Stormy.

“What a dump. "executive" a complete misnomer.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

It was just something about the smell of the room at first. It was missing that clean, crisp smell you get from fresh and newly cleaned bed linens. Smelled like the beds hadn't been changed in weeks. Only one power outlet in room, and when I leaned on the table to plug in something, I almost fell and headbutted the patio door. The table top was completely loose and just balancing on its pedestal so it tilted 45 degrees when I put my weight on 1 side. Couple of cockroaches on the wall by the bed. Went to make myself a late night coffee and found several-day-old mouldy coffee filter in the filter basket, almost with more hair on it than I have on my head. The coffee maker was removed as soon as I reported it to the front desk. Needless to say, we moved hotels the next day, which was an excellent decision.
