“Exceeding ALL Expectations!”

The views, breathtaking. The service, exceptional. We were so pleasantly surprised, it was an absolutely amazing experience. The resort was located behind the Bermuda College on it's own private beach. The resort grounds were pristine, the landscaping incredible. We felt like we were dropped into a postcard it was so perfect. The hotel staff was attentive, helpful and informative. You can use a taxi to and from the airport, but we found the bus to be the most economical way to go as well as a great way to see the island. There is a bus stop right across the main street to get you to the airport. $2 for a token from the resort front desk. Yaan and Kandice were the ladies that worked the front desk, they were very helpful. We had great service from Darnell at the resort's bar and Lyle, the resort's manager was friendly, courteous and professional. The room was clean and a nice size. The ocean view was amazing. We can't wait to go back and when we do, we will be at the Coco Reef Resort!

“Exactly what I imagined and more!”

Don't listen to any of those foolish reviews and bad comments. I found this island getaway to be exactly what my soul and spirit needed. Remember you are visiting an island you are not going to fifth avenue or Vegas! Spend the couple extra dollars on an ocean front room and your door will open onto the greenest grass (palm trees included).
Building 200 is the closest to the beach and the sound of those waves at night just lolled me to sleep. The entire grounds of the complex are manicured and picture perfect. There are lounge chairs throughout the property for taking it easy and the pool was very refreshing.
St. George was historical and cute with its old-time reenactments and quaint shops.
Hamilton was bustling and very big-city. I ran from there quick, I was here to enjoy the island and the peacefulness. A half day I spent at Tom Moores' Jungle. This was just to awesome- I never saw another person the entire time I wandered around the jungle taking pictures of the undisturbed nature the way it would have been when the island was first founded. The second half of that day was spent at the Botanical Gardens, very pristine and the plants all had nametags (unlike the jungle). The narrow roads are a bit scary to walk along but the drivers are polite and friendly. The price of food is pretty steep ($40 for a medium pizza).
I had an amazing getaway to a great island and a great hotel. I will be back for sure!

Room Tip: building 200 is the closest to the beach.

My husband and I just returned from a perfect weekend stay at the Coco Reef. Hands down, this was the best choice for the money. First and foremost, the staff are just wonderful. I think we have become so accustomed to lousy customer service in the U.S., that when we were consistently treated with courtesy, smiles, and a pleasant disposition we were just blown away. Kudos to Kandace, Vladimir, and Asha. Truly, these folks are incredibly accommodating, helpful, and genuine. Even in advance of our arrival, Asha was helpful in arranging airport transfers, a microwave in the room, and our request for a second floor room. Each time I communicated by e-mail she was quick to respond within an hour or two. In addition, the facility is great. Others who have knocked the place for its outdated furnishings and maintenance issues apparently are looking to stay at the Ritz. We travel often, and what we've come to realize is that island travel is just different from your run of the mill big box chain hotel in a most American/Canadian cities. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, the linens were all cotton and in good condition, toiletries were provided, etc. We thought it was typical of the island motif, and was much nicer than we expected. Finally, the location is perfect, as it is right in the middle of the island ANDS beachfront. The proximity to Hamilton and the fact that you are about equidistant rom St. Georges at one end and the Naval Dockyard at the other end enabled us to see the whole island in one day. We rented a scooter, which is the best way to see everything at your leisure. One important tip--use Oleander Cycles (the scooter rental company the hotel recommends). We didn't and were sorely disappointed with the "other" company. They ended up giving us a scooter with a dead battery that we had to kick start all day, the speedometer and tachometer were broken, and on top of that they overcharged our credit card, which we are still fighting to get corrected. That was the ONLY negative experience we had the entire trip. Yes, Bermuda is really expensive, especially compared to the Caribbean. I would compare it to Hawaii--food and fuel are outrageously priced, so just be prepared to enjoy the beauty and elegance the island has to offer and don't fixate on prices. Example: loaf of bread=$5, half gallon of milk =$5.50, box of cereal=$8. Just go and enjoy, otherwise penny-pinching will drive you crazy! Again, the Coco Reef was an excellent choice, and we would definitely return.

Room Tip: Buildings 100 and 200 are closest to the waterfront, but all of them provide a spectacular view. Bui...

“Welcoming, beachfront and affordable”

I am planning a return trip to Coco Reef and here's why: it is moderately priced, friendly and has wonderful ocean views. A quick walk and you're at the bus stop and Modern Mart, where you can purchase foods for breakfast and lunch, fruit and wine.
Coco Reef is about 10 minutes from Hamilton by bus, so you don't feel isolated.
Within walking distance, right down the beach, you can visit neighboring hotels and their restaurants- without the fuss of arranging a cab .
I have visited Bermuda about 10 times thus far, and have stayed in a variety of places. Coco Reef is moderate in price, clean, quiet, with a wonderful location and a warm, professional staff. If you're looking for uber fancy- stay at Elbow Beach for 3 times the price.

Room Tip: Building 100 ROCKS!
