“Great Time in High Season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

5 adults and 3 kids. 1 single unit and a double. The kids had a wonderful time. Pool with river is very nice. Had to getup early to reserve at least 2 4 contiguous spaces close to the pool. Restaurants and food good for first days but get repetitive and limited for a week. Beach is beautiful, specially the sunset. Will go back!!

“Loved it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

The rooms were amazing!
The concierge was very helpful. Hands down the best part was the lazy river! It gets so hot during the day, the lazy river is the ideal was to stay cool and still work on your tan!
My parents had been here before and the advised us to bring inflatable tubes for the river. Glad we did. We were able to get them for $6 at Walmart in the states. I don't remember what the hotel was selling them for... My guess is $15.
Lots of activities for the kiddos. Live music was awesome when they had it. We did our SCUBA diving through the resort and it was great as well!

“A good low-key on the high-rise strip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

A primarily owner-driven property sandwiched between the Marriott Hotel and their Surfclub. Most return here year after year and it has a family feel. Great beach, pool, rooms and views. Very attentive staff, everyone of whom has a smile and the patience to teach you one more phrase in Papiamento. Cooking in the "units" a great advantage and you're only 15 minutes or less from great restaurants. Mostly low-key, but watch out for the lunchtime bingo and the happy hour music blasts. If Marriott wants to change the demographics of their aging customer base here, well, losing the bingo game and adding fitness options other than pool aerobics would be a start. Fitness types revel in the beach path, flat and long for miles eventually connecting with Eagle Beach and an option for a return loop through the Malls for a great 4-8 miler.

“We enjoyed the "off peak" season better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We decided to visit during the peak season, and a few things were different from the "off peak season"... It was booked at 100% capacity-- and although we are owners, got no preference for a better room. It was the first time we didn't have a room with a lovely view. It was crowded/overrun with teenagers (not sure where chaparones were) when we got there, luckily, they departed the very next day, because reading these reviews indicated they could have been troublesome. It was cooler, and rained on and off for a few days-- we were told the rain was unusual for this time of year. The staff was their usual friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and in good order, bed comfortable. Wouldn't return this time of year/We enjoy it better when it's warmer, and less crowded.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view. The north side keeps the sun from cooking you when you...

“Wonderful vacation!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Just got back from the Marriott Ocean Club in amazing Aruba, we had a fantastic time, we have stayed at the Marriott Surf Club twice and while it is amazing, the Ocean Club was a little more quiet, it could be the time of year, but we enjoyed not having to get up at 6:30 just to get chairs by the pool or even a good spot on the beach, we could get up around 8 and still have chairs at the pool or beach at the Ocean Club. All of the staff is great, especially the pool bar and the Pavillon Restaurant they are so friendly, the staff at the front desk not so much, not friendly at all. Felt like we were bothering them when we asked them a question.
The housekeeping staff were so nice loved them!!!
The Ocean Club put on a great superbowl party outside on a giant screen, unfortunately the wrong team won but it was still a treat to watch the superbowl outside under a glorious full moon!! my one complaint about the hotel is the air conditioning not the greatest!
the weather was perfect!!, we ate at great restaurants, Smokey Joes is amazing their ribs the best ever, Azzurro is so good, great Italian food, and Casa Tua equally as good
the only negative was people from other hotels (from the Hyatt and another hotel)taking up chairs because they new someone at the Surf Club and it was too crowded so they came to the Ocean Club, I find that not fair, Ocean Club guest cannot use the Surf Club pool but they can use ours if there is no room at their pool!! so that was upsetting to me!
If you are looking for the best weather , the most amazing beach, the friendliest island and great food ARUBA is the place to go!

Room Tip: ask for floors above 3
