“Great views, clean, just one problem.......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The hotel is attached to the Stellaris Casino and the ventilation system from the casino blows all of the cigarette smoke into the hotel. The system is completely out of balance and there should be barrier doors between the hotel and the casino where they allow smoking. Take away the smoking and this can be a 4 or 5 star hotel overall. The large lobby gets completely filled with cigarette smoke. Service is good, rooms are good, location is great.

Room Tip: Far away from the lobby area if you don't want to have a room filled with cigarette smoke from t...

Beautiful location, spacious and clean hotel, great staff, good restaurants especially Ruth Chris, 3 separate pools, happy hours, awesome sunsets, all leads to a wonderful vacation. I will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Face the ocean...it's worth it.

I received a welcome e mail from Massiel (Massy) Genser about three weeks prior to our arrival. She advised that she would take care of all our reservations and dreams. Massy certainly kept her promise. All restaurants were top rated. Sa far we have eaten at the Marriotts Simple Fish and tonight Fish Bones down the road. Both were on the beach. She has reserved our jeep and snorkel tours etc. All reservation were re confirmed by her today and she provided us with a typed itinerary. Great job Massy. Request her for all your needs and dreams.

The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. I did my best to notice other hotels on the strip at Palm Beach and do think that this one does look the nicest. The pool is very pretty, nice waterfall. The beach has a lot of space and isn't too crowded. The staff there is very friendly and the food around the pool and at the beach is great, just what you would expect for a beach bar type of atmosphere. We had breakfast free and that makes a huge difference in the value of the stay. They have people making omelets and a waffle station and the rest of the things at breakfast were awesome. We filled up at breakfast, did nachos or something around lunch, and went out for dinner every night. We did the ocean front room and it is spacious and beautiful. We were on the 4th floor, which some people advise against, but we thought the view just over and through the palms was outstanding. We did not choose to eat at the hotel restaurant for dinner on the beach, but it did look nice.

For dinner you HAVE to do Papiamentos, Madame Jeanettes, and the Flying Fishbone. All were great. I would rank the food the best at the first two. The Flying Fishbone is a haul from most of the hotels, but probably worth it if you are sure to get a seat at the water's edge and if you are looking for something romantic. Papiamentos atmosphere is outstanding and so is the food. There you sit around a pool outside. Madame Jeanette's was probably my favorite. There was live music, the food was outstanding, and the service rocked!

I would also recommend stopping for a drink before dinner at Ruth's Chris. We have that restaurant close to home, but you can't beat their Lemon Drop Martini.

Overall, the trip was outstanding. I love Aruba, the people are so nice. The water is great and beautiful blue... maybe not AS clear as in the Caymans.

“Headed right back!”

This is our second trip in a year and we cant wait for the next visit! (we just returned last night). We stay on the Tradewinds floor - it is absolutely worth the extra money! the service and treatment is incredible. The lounge where breakfast, lunch, and happy hour are all amazing in their own right. Maria and Kimesha were there to help us with any reservations we needed. Hermina, at the adult only beach, made sure that we were all setup on the beach - from towels, to lounges, to the rafts for the water. She also made sure we were applying and reapplying sunscreen. Any requests mafe to the hotel (extra shampoo, towels, etc) was made within minutes of the request, with a followup phone call by management to confirm everything was satisfactory. We always left for dinner but the sushi served in the tradewinds club was amazing!

make sure to hit up Madame Janettes and the Flying Fish Bone when you go. Make your Flying Fishbone reservation for 6 - and get a table on the sand nxt to the water - the sunset view is breathtaking, and at dusk, crabs come out (dont worry they dont come close to the tables) and fish come to check things out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing pool and ocean - best views!
