We actually stayed here the end of April/beginning of May 2009. I was not expecting a fabulous experience given the cost for the room. I was however, expecting basic cleanliness and a slightly better location.
I'll start with location. You must have a car if you are going to stay here. The walk to the beach or stores is just too dangerous without one. There are no sidewalks or real crosswalks. Plus, it'd be quite the trek to the beach on foot, especially if you are carrying towels, a cooler, chairs, etc. That said, Aruba is a relatively small island and you can easily travel to some of the less crowded beaches with a car, which is nice.
The room was an acceptable size, had a comfortable bed and decent bathroom. It just had a feeling of dinginess. The floors were not kept clean, despite the fact that a lot of sand accumulated during our stay. We requested new sheets after a spill, and did not receive any until we asked two more times. The towels they lend you for the beach are stained and worn out. The pool was cloudy and uninviting. We did not end up going in it even once over the week we stayed here.
On a happier note, the staff was friendly and accommodating (aside from the bed sheets incident). They greeted us warmly, answered all of our questions and helped us navigate the island. They provided a steering wheel lock while our car was parked there (this may provide you further information about the location...).
We ended up using our room as a nightly base station, and that was it. This is not a place to relax or hang out during the day. If your needs for accommodations are basic and you want a cheap place to stay, the Arubiana Inn might be fine for you. But it was just a little too grimy for us.
