We spent the first 5 days of our holiday in Aruba at the Harmony Apartments, in a residential area called Ponton. Barbara is a very warm and welcoming host. The apartments are the perfect place to unwind. The pool is delicious and the ambience wonderful but there are a few flaws. We stayed in studio 1. Two single beds but together as a kingsize, the sheets didn't fit well and weren't cool cotton. The room was quite stuffy and although there is a/c it's very noisy. Our sheets and towels weren't changed during our stay.There is no hot water, the showers are tepid, but that is all that's needed with temperatures rarely falling below 85f. The kitchenette has a hob,microwave, fridge and toaster. There are enough kitchen utensils to prepare breakfast and simple meals. If you stay here you definitely need a hire car. the nearest supermarket is about 10 minutes walk and there is a Chinese restaurant/bar just a couple of minutes further along the road. The beaches are about 5 - 10 minutes by car depending on whether you stay in the low or high rise hotel area. Whilst we were staying there were only 3 other rooms with guests but on the last day all the rooms were full and it felt overcrowded. Overall the Harmony apartments are excellent value if you are travelling on a budget. They would also be a perfect place for a group to holiday together as long as you took over all the rooms and insisted on only 2 people sharing each room. We moved onto a low rise hotel as we wanted better access to the beaches and restaurants. The first few days at the Harmoney really allowed us to unwind in peace and quiet. thank you Barbara.
