“The worst place in the WORLD!!!!”

People, PLEASE, do yourselves a favor and NEVER go to this horrible place. I have been in many countries around the world and I have never been treated sooooo bad in my entire life. The owner of this place in Aruba is the worst imaginable human being you will ever have to encounter. She is disrespectful beyond words and the worst part of it all, she will steal your money!!!!! Please, don't ever book a room in the Malibu Suites in Aruba. This woman should be closed down for business!!!

Room Tip: If you would like to stay in a cheaper place, try Aspid Apartments. The owner is excellent and will...

We booked 3 nights on this place. We arrived early and so we called them if we can check in early but of course not so we waited till 3pm checking time. we finally got our room, the light in the ceiling is just blinking and the person who checked us in said that it will come on in few seconds but we waited for hour but the light just keep blinking like disco light, very annoying. Neverthless we rested on bed without turning the bedsheets down. After resting we went out to have some dinner. Got back to the room around 11pm and try to sleep. AT our SURPRISED when we turn down the sheets it was dirty, been previously used! with stain of makeup, hairs, so we couldn't believed what we're seeing so we end up inspecting the whole bed. The under sheets lots of hairs not ours. The bed skirt there's some kind of red stain that look like blood but ok we ignored that cause we don't want to think otherwise. The reception window is already closed so we just slept on top of the bed cover. In the morning went in and complain, and they are surprised and sound upset that the woman saying you already slept in there it could be your makeup and hairs! I said not mine, i have a long hair and not curly. They thought we are making it up. NO apology been said at all. but they agreed to fix the light and clean the room. Indeed when we got back from breakfast they are in our room fixing the light so we left them alone. The second time we went back the room was already fix and clean but the maid left behind her wet cloth so she came back and she was saying indeed the the sheets dirty and she was saying some kind of broken nails that's why theres is stain in the bed skirt! So that means it was blood but the look of it the whole nail then was removed to cause that much of stain! Horrible! But after that it was ok, they kept the room clean.

“Poor Customer Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

I never actually got a chance to stay here, but with all the red flags I got it probably was for the best.

I emailed this hotel at the beginning of October requesting a two night stay at the end of December. I received one response back in Spanish, and then two more in English after I informed them that I do not speak Spanish. The response said that they will not start taking bookings for my dates until November 1st. . .

I waited until November 1st, and sent them another email saying I would like to book the room now. Three days later. . . . no response. I sent in another booking reservation on their website for the requested dates. . . .three days later. . . still no response.
I sent them one last email saying that I needed a response ASAP as most of the other resorts were booked up already. I received two emails, one in polite English saying that unfortunately they were all booked up, and another in poor English saying that they were booked up and that they have a minimum stay of 6 nights!

I completely understand having a minimum number of nights, especially during high season, but the fact that they didn't have the courtesy to tell me that the first time I had inquired is really frustrating. If they had told me that a month ago I wouldn't have sat around waiting to try and book a room with them! Now I'm going to end up spending +$200 a night at some overpriced hotel. . .

I guess that will teach me for waiting until the last minute.

“Great last minute motel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

My wife and I are airline employees and got "bumped" off of our flight on the last day of our Aruba trip. A fellow employee (who was also bumped twice with her three other travelers) was returning to the Malibu Suites and suggested it to us. Newly renovated rooms, still working on some. Only 15 units. Tiny but nice pool and patio. Owners are extremely nice and accommodating. Neighborhood was questionable by looks, however the other group walked to a store in daylight and said it was ok. Very close to the airport, $18 taxi ride. Cost was $65 plus tax with $50 cash deposit refundable at checkout for two people in a king room.

“If it wasn't for the rude owner, this would be the ideal place to stay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

The service at the Malibu Suites was acceptable. However, our experience with the owner was not so nice. She was rather rude and unfriendly.
We loved the room and the cleanliness and the cleaning team was very pleasant.
The area felt safe. There are security cameras everywhere and the front entrance is locked at all times.
The kitchen did not have an oven, toaster or towels.
We at least enjoyed the free wi-fi access.
