“Enjoyable and quiet stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My husband, 1 year old daughter, and mother-in-law stayed for 1 week in August 2010. We exchanged our timeshare for this place. By the end of our trip my husband and I were seriously considering buying a timeshare week. Many people we met there were timeshare owners of many years. It was quiet, the pool was never crowded, and the best beach of Aruba is across the street. We stayed at the La Cabana in 2007 for our honeymoon which is right next door. It was loud, crowded, and not family friendly if you need your kids to sleep at night with loud music glaring. We figured we can stay at Paradise Beach Villas, go next door to La Cabana for a drink, and then slip back to quiet paradise. Best time! Will go back!

“Very enjoyable stay.”

We stayed recently at PBV and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean. The air conditioning worked very well. The kitchen was well stocked. All staff were pleasant and tried to please us. Any questions I had about the area were answered, including how to get to different places on Aruba. If I had to complain, it would be that the beds and pillows were too hard. However, our housekeeper tried her best to help us out by bringing in a different mattress and foam pad. Also, I found the TV in the living area quite small with limited selection for channels. The elevator was out of order for a few days. We found our time so very relaxing at PBV because it is a small resort and not crowded. We could always find a place to sit by the pool and there were not many people in the pool. The hot tubs, with each a different temperature, were very relaxing. This is a quiet resort with no entertainment beyond the Tiki Bar, which closes quite early each evening. I think that this is a good tradeoff for not having crowds of people to deal with all day. I definitely will consider returning to Paradise Beach Villas.

“Paradise Beach Villas”

Was very unsure of this resort from the reviews that I read prior to going. We stayed in suite 227 and it was a nice room with a beautiful view of both the sea and the pool. Our room had a wrap around balcony which we spent alot of evening on just listening to the ocean. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. We couldn't get the jacuzzi to work and the sent someone to our room within 30 minutes.

We had a very pleasant, relaxing visit and would diffently go back.

“Quiet resort close to Eagle beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This is a small quiet resort across the road from Eagle beach. The staff are friendly and rooms are clean if not quite 5 star. The bus stops outside the resort and grocery store is a short ride towards town ($2.30 round trip). We were in a one bedroom with kitchen which was well stocked with dishwasher (bring some tablets), oven, toaster, coffee machine (filters provided) and microwave. The resort charges $20 per day energy and tax surcharge. Food is expensive in Aruba and more in the convenience store. Car rental from Avis at the Tropicana resort (walking distance) was reasonable. Eagle beach is the best beach on Aruba and is never crowded. Water is calm and a swimming area is marked (to protect form jet skis). We were there in late November and it rained two or three times - I believe this is the rainy season. Elevator did not work on our last day which made moving our luggage difficult. Taxi to airport is $25.

Room Tip: We were in Phase 2 on 4th floor. Good for view of pool and beach unless elevator is not working (las...

“Clean, Average Accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Paradise Beach Villas is an older timeshare, but is located on Eagle Beach. We were in Unit 304, which was in the phase 1 building - if you have room xx0 - x14, it means you have 'garden view' and you are facing the parking lot! Your room location will definitely determine how you feel about this resort - everyone who goes to the beach would prefer an ocean view room. :-/ The staff did a good job of keeping the unit clean. The furnishings are a bit dated and could use updating. The beds were hard and short (if you are 6' or taller, your feet will hang off the end of the 'queen' bed / sleep sofa). The hallways have a dark brown carpet which make the place look drab. The elevator is small, quirky and has royal blue panels and lights (retro 70's disco theme???); very interesting.

The 'draw' is the beach which is right across the street and is BEAUTIFUL. Some of the palapas were under construction (and more are needed). Someone from the hotel will set up palapas, find shade for you and set up your beach chairs.

Public buses are easy to catch ($2.30 US round trip; make sure to ask for a return trip voucher) and go to most places. Getting supplies is easy - To get to the super markets, cross the street from the resort and take the bus to the 5th/6th bus stop heading back towards the airport (they will be on the left side of the road). Only rent a car on the days you want to explore the island (Aruba Car Rental will deliver the rental to you at PBV). Directions to attractions are scant/open to interpretation, but everyone on the island was friendly and helpful; willing to provide directions if asked.

We visited the ostrich farm, 'fort' ruins, and natural bridge (it was a bit of a disappointment, due to the pollution/trash in the water).

Hint: Take advantage of Duty Free on your way TO Aruba.

We ate lunch at Delifrance (near the supermarkets 3.5 out of 5 - good place for lunch and a beer). We dined at Tulip (4 out of 5 - nice atmosphere; good food and fixed price menu nightly), Carambola (4.6 out of 5 - recently renovated; don't let the outside 'look' (from the parking lot of PBV) fool you; great food and service), Chalet Suisse (3.8 out of 5 - went on Thanksgiving, so may not have been a good night to assess; good food; lobster a little overcooked/chewy).

We will definitely go back to Aruba.
