“A perfect mother/daughter getaway trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 March 2011

The Ocean Inn is a relaxing quiet setting in which to get away from it all. Our host Robert was most helpful in anything we needed. Our room #6 was very clean with the most awesome pillows in which to sleep on after a day on the beach watching the sailboats come and go. Breakfast included great coffee, fruit and different pastries. The only thing missing was protein of some sort. I bought a small jar of peanut butter from the harbor store and made my own protein with PB toast/bananas. Every staff member was so friendly esp. Doreen and Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks gave us a great tour of the many fruit trees/plants on site. The pool is a great ending to the day where you can raid the honesty bar.
We spent alot of time in the harbor area taking in the feel of the yachting world. Great places to eat are the Pizzeria, the Mexican restaurant and Trappas. Our best time was spent ziplining through the rainforest which Robert arranged for us on the spur of the moment. Not to be missed! We also enjoyed Nelson's Dockyard. Great history and a Colonial Williamsburg feel to it. There are a few small places to eat there with great atomosphere. Our trip into St. Johns via city bus ($3.75) was fun for a day trip but the Harbor is where we felt more at home. We enjoyed being part of the laid back, no frills atmosphere the Harbor has to offer. We would definitely stay at the Ocean Inn again, a most enjoyable trip for both of us.

“Loved peaceful Ocean Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

We loved our week at Ocean Inn, which allowed us to have a quiet setting above the harbor, but also a 4-minute walk down the hill to many restaurants and activities. When we were delayed one day due to a missed connection, Robert upgraded us upon arrival. It was a very kind thing to do. Staff is very friendly and available if you have questions. It was a delight to wake up each morning, grab a cup of coffee in the dining room and watch the harbor wake up below! Sheets and towels are very high quality with a comfortable bed. Shirley's Heights lookout is a nice 50-minute walk along some quiet back roads behind Ocean Inn. We'd love to go back!

“A "local", small & friendly hotel - ideally situated for English Harbour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2011

I've stayed here many times, which says something!

With views over the harbour to kill for, it's a very comfortable, inexpensive and secluded lodging. At night you can sit on the verandah (drink in hand!) and take in the scenery of English Harbour; the only noise you'll hear are the crickets singing!

Great place to stay if you've been on a boat for a while!

“All that you need”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

Nice and clean, I think with best "value for the money" in English Harbour. Staff is very helpful and relaxed and they get a lot of repetitive clients who are travelling for business purposes. If you do not like family style hotels, this is not place for you. Everybody (guests and staff) are very relaxed. I liked "honesty bar" by small swimming pool. Breakfast is not very good. As for mosquitoes, one of the guests told me that in Caribbean generally only green "Off" will be of use. Wi-Fi is not accessible in all rooms, so you might need to use it by the pool. During the day you can walk to English Harbour (3-5 minutes of walk) but during night they will advise you to get taxi for ride back - and price of taxi from English Harbour to Ocean Inn is something very cheap... All my colleagues from charter industry like to stay in Ocean Inn and leave more money to be spent on other things than accommodation itself. I am going back again this December to Antigua and to Ocean Inn.

“Great view, excellent value...awesome location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2010

My sister and I stayed at the Ocean Inn for 3 nights last week and had such a relaxing time. Our room was a good size with two twin beds, and we received continental breakfast every morning. The resident dog, Mike is so welcoming and friendly we felt at home once we walked through the gates. And the view of English Harbour /Nelson's Dockyard is breathtaking..
OceanView would be very hard to beat for value and location, Robert and team do all they can to make you feel at home. Your'e just a 15 minute walk to one of the best beaches on the island or a $8(USD) taxi ride.....your call......we walked!
Traveling to the islands in the summer is also bliss as its the off season and you pretty much get nearby beaches and restaurants to yourselve....which is great if you are not into the hustle and bustle!
